MSNBC just had a special report w/ some raw video. Large explosion in central Baghdad that could be heard for miles. Near the gates of the CPA headquarters. No word on casualties. From the raw video, I saw several civilian cars damaged.

Thank goodness explosives are much harder to come by over here, but it is still a wait and see thingy. I have no doubts we will be discussing similar events here in the future.

How does the reporter know? What bomb-calibration credentials does the reporter have?

It does remind me of Israel and I wonder if some of the same terror network's expertise isn't being employed. They lost a lot when Saddam quit paying off the families.

I have no doubts we will be discussing similar events here in the future.I have plenty of doubt about that.
But if it does happen, it'll only be once.

No trolling going on with me--just frustration with how people can be silent and passive in the face of any potentially dangerous situation.
That is not a good scenario.
Here in the US, some courage is involved with being involved with "take back our neighborhood" initiatives.
I haven't seen much of that in Iraq.
Maybe I am being too p'-od. My apologies.

I sincerely hope you are correct but if they are determined it will be hard to stop. Also, we could be in danger of terrorist other than those from ME countries. The guy they caught from East Texas comes to mind.

I hate to say it, but if they are going to attack by killing themselves then fighting the war on terrorists in Iraq is much better as they will eventually kill themselves off and turn their own against them for murdering their own kind. We do need to win this war and it will be an extremely tough fight as they have no troops to wipe out with a single bomb or no bases to easily monitor. Today is a sad day in war but it is also one less car bomb and one less suicide murderer that will enter America. God bless the troops that protect us in Countries throughout the world to make this a safe place to live. May God watch over them and not let their deaths be in vain or for any other reason than to serve their Country proudly.

Every one of the reporters over there has had military training, IMO. Hence, Geraldo's absence.
Greg Palkot of Fox said he's seen and heard many 500 pound bombs which produced much less destruction and deaths.
Fox reporting two Americans killed, probably civilians.

With Your Statement, You Can see where folks are pissed...
This is why only a few Iraqis don't want US to leave. Most Iraqis don't care--it is all Allah's will. Not a good scenario. After enduring 35 years of terror and tyranny, I expected the Iraqis to show some more courage. They have not such courage. Most Iraqis don't care--it is all Allah's will. That's how they got to be ruled by Saddam. They ain't got no guts.
