Almost total silence.
Clinton began her spiel by introducing a quote from legendary Indian peace activist Mahatma Gandhi.
"He ran a gas station down in St. Louis."
It took two days before Hillary apologized. Sort of. And that, only after the head of the Gandhi Institute of Nonviolence, an organization founded by Gandhi's grandson, blasted her words as an ethnic "stereotype" that "could be incredibly harmful."

If a Republican Senator had said this, not only would the media have jumped all over him/her 24/7, but any special committees he/she was on would have to demand his/her resignation effective yesterday. He or She might even have to resign from the Senate! Look what happened to Trent Lott for making a less offensive remark!
