Email/Letter writing campaign against The President's plan for immigration
Myself

Posted on 01/07/2004 7:45:17 PM PST by Remember_Salamis

Has anybody started an email/letter writing campaign in response to the president's proposed immigration initiative?

We need to show the president that he can't take advantage of his conservative base.

Ok, I give up, you have caught us. We are alien twins sent her from the planet Phooey and one day we will conquer the world.

I would like someone to name one just one legitimate benefit.. this is importing disease, poverty, much elevated criminal rate, revolutionaries (Aztlan), depressed wages, displacment of American workers, displacement of citizens, higher taxes, the collapse of social security, urban overcrowding, overcrowding of schools, much greater rate of scholastic resignation, bilingual society, the list could go on...

Funny to hear a supposed Libertarian voter rail against illegal immigration. One would almost assume such a mixed up person was a seminar caller who snoozed through her class.

What in the world are you talking about?

This freeper would like everyone to contact the White House and express their opinion. I think that is a great idea.

How about you?

Dude watch out for the FReepers, who for some inexplicable reason, see nothing wrong with supporting the citizens of another country with our tax dollars.

Personally, I feel very badly for people who live in corrupt countries where they can't support themselves. I understand their desire to make a better life for themselves and their families. They need to change the way their countries are run, not invade ours.

Shame on President Bush.

I can't wait until the liberal press has to report on the debates, with the nine dwarfs drumming about how we need to give all the illegals a full free ride into citizenship. Indeed, one of Bush's smoothest moves - I just hope the Hispanics catch up, else they're going to be pissed as heck with the possibility he's pandering to the illegals.

What is your solution to this big problem. Like i posted on another thread, the most conservative president one can find, is not going to deport 8 or more million illegals. Just ignoring it is not going to make it go away.
Everyone one of the "liberal" things that they say Bush has done caters to main stream America that probably comprises 60% of the population. He is trying to figure out a solution to this problem which is more than what the previous crook in the WH did by making tons of illegal immigrants legal and somehow they ended up voting (when they are not supposed to vote) and no one got up and riled about this. But of course, the president proposes something constructive and everyone is ready to give up on him.

I'm not too worried about that. Many of them may be poor and not well educated, but they aren't stupid. They know that this situation can't continue the way it's going, and they also know there is no easy way to handle the problem.

I guess you have not read his remarks but it is NOT amnesty. It is not deporation either which would be ideal in an utopian world but completly impractical. It is the grey imperfect solution but we have to start somewhere. Compare it to the 9 dwarves who would give them outright citizenship. Bush's proposal in no way does says anything about citizenship.

I hope you will take the intend of this thread to heart and let the White House know how you feel about this issue. Over the next few days the White House is going to get bombarded by a lot of vicious e-mail.

A short hand penned note to the White House lets them know that the common conservative supports the President and his bold move to put some order into this chaotic situation.

A personal note lets them know their base is behind them.

If you were to actually read the platform of the LP, you would know that they call for full, open, and unfettered immigration by any and all people.

How about you? Will you contact the White House and let them know how you feel?

"Apparently we are part of the few who understand the legislative process involved here."

Michael Savage was on O'Reilly last night talking about the illegal immigration issue, he had all the usual lines, and all the talking points ready.

Bill mostly agreed with him, then threw out a question that stumped Savage, he asked him what to do with the 10 million illegal aliens already here.

Savage started talking about the reason why they came, and about the cost of their being here, but Bill interrupted him, and asked again "but what do we do about the 10 million already here"?

Savage never actually answered the question.

That's always been the problem, everyone jumps up and down talking about getting them out of here, but when pressed, no one has an actual working plan on how to go about identifying, arresting, and removing ten million people who in many instances are intricately intertwined into our society, from the country without violating every civil, human, and constitutional right that I can think of.

Bush has actually taken a step, and like the old saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

The clueless around here want to get to the destination, without actually having taken any steps, so they bitch, moan, and render their clothes without realizing that Bush has started us down the road to solving this problem.
