Since he is unable to harp on the market and job losses he has resorted to comparing the current economy with that which led to the Great Depression. And then of course there are these Hitler comparisons. He only had to get elected once (well, in fact he had "only" 44% of the votes and instead was made chancelor by the president). He kept the promise of giving everyone work (mainly due to the construction of infrastructure he needed for the war; but that's as socialist as when the US pumps money into war machinery).

Hitler being categorized a right winger - now we're moving to the "National" in National Socialism. The National wasn't a lie at all. The Nazis stand for Nationalism as no other. The "race" was everything, woman were supposed to stay home and give birth to children, crimes were severly punished. And above all stood the Nation: The most important thing there was the Nation ("Deutschland, Deutschland über alles" ["Germany, Germany above everything"] was the first line of the German anthem until 1945).
These aren't leftist ideas. They belong to the far right. There are elements you find resembled in conservative ideas, however, nationalism is far more extreme ("further to the right") and there are ideas that have nothing to do with being conservative - the real religion of many Nazis was paganism, their gods were the old germanic Thor et al.
