Come on people! Let's at least try to be intellectually honest here! One of the most popular posters here a few years back was a campaign poster of Adolph Hitler, in full dress uniform, with Hillery Clinton's head superimposed upon it!
That was just as wrong as the ad campaign over at Moveon.org is today!
FreeRepublic has no room to complain about this stuff because ALL OF US are JUST AS GUILTY AS THEY ARE!!! We have tolerated this filth in the past!
Stop complaining, and get on with business!

the ideologically blinded arrogance that goes with it.If you really believe that it is blind ideologic arrogance to resist the power of the state to regulate legal behavior on private property, then it is you sir that has the problem.
And declaring yourself the winner does not make it so.

Our country is on the brink of a second cival war..And it wont be pretty cause the left knows how to manipulate people..They will say republicans and conservatives want to take away medicare and welfare and burn black churches. ANd the sheeple that depend on the left will follow in step..We need to be careful. Cause the left is slipping more and more into the communist way of thinking. It is going get ugly before it gets better...

That's what slays me about these DUmmies: If they actually got a look up close at a totalitarian state from the inside--had to live in one and be brutalized by one--they would absolutely crap their pants, and begin praying desperately to Gaia or whatever for deliverance.

Please read my post again.
I did not say that 'resisting the power of the state to regulate legal behavior on private property' was arrogance. I said that calling people Nazis because they don't agree with you is.
A common thread that runs through those on the far right is an emotional, reactionary quality that resists civil discourse, and seems to interfere with reading comprehension as well.
(btw, I do NOT believe that the state should regulate legal behavior on private property, but I also hate the smell of smoke, so I like smoke-free areas in public places.....I just think the owners of the property should be responsible enough to keep the stench away from my food.....but I digress).
I haven't declared myself the winner of anything. I have simply stated that calling another person a Nazi at the drop of a hat, as happens often here on FR, makes one a loser of said argument.
And you came very close to doing so on this very thread, did you not?

It will be interesting to see if any of the liberal media outlets report on these ads. Also, how many of the liberal papers condemn the ads. I would guess not many.

I see you finally got around to your Bash-Bush agenda.

"Ah....reminds me of all those Hitler ads (with Clinton superimposed) in the 1990s that were so popular on FR. We hardly have a leg to stand on when they do the same thing, do we?"
Generally speaking, I would agree with you. There is, no doubt, rhetorical extremes on both sides of the aisle. BUT...where I see a difference is who it is that embraces these views. When the extreme right speaks in these similar tones, they are marginalized and labeled as extremists...ala the "Clinton Haters." Many times, these Republicans are even rebuked from members of their own party as they are ostrisized(sp). Unlike the Right's extemists who are on the fringe, the Left's are no longer on the fringe.
Al Gore is a big supporter of MoveOn...as are many Hollywood celebrities. Hell, Streisand has made similar comments herself. Now, compare that with the so-called Right's celebrities (Willis, Selleck, etc) who won't even publically attend Republican conventions for fear of being associated with the extreme wings. These well known liberal names don't hide from the extremes within their Party...they embrace them. The point is, this hatred and vitriol is no longer the sole proprietorship of the extreme left-wing; it has become acceptable within the mainstream.
There's no better example of this than the comments from leading Democrats such as Ted Kennedy, Madeline Albright, Dean and Clark. We on FR are a part of the unwashed pundintry; the names above are leaders within the Democratic Party...and in the case of Hollywood, influential names in society. No one is going to care what CWB says on FR...but people like Kennedy, Asner, Streisand, etc. do have influence, as they spout their extreme hatred.

Treason IS defined...you interpret...
Article III, Section 3...
Section 3. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
The Congress shall have power to declare the punishment of treason, but no attainder of treason shall work corruption of blood, or forfeiture except during the life of the person attainted.

The vitriolic hatred of the Democrats for Bush will be their undoing. As Anthony Hopkins cautioned in The Mask of Zorro, NEVER attack in anger.
This idiotic stuff will only alienate mainstream America. It has already alienated Jewish groups.

Face it, a post on a thread on Free Republic is completely different from a tax-exempt political lobbying organization airing a Bush=Hitler ad.

Free Republic was planning on running such a comparison in television ads?
Republicans have called Democrats "nazis" from the floor of Congress?
Ain't the same.

MoveOn.org is not a tax-exempt organization. They are a partisan PAC (political action committee) and do not get tax deductible contributions.
They have illegally been soliciting foreign campaign contributions until they got caught.
