Get a green card online

They allege this will be the only way illegals can get a green card, via online. This is INS way of saying it is discouraging for illegals simply because most don't have access to a pc.

Requirements:

To participate in the Green Card Lottery, you must satisfy General Requirements and Education/Training Requirements. Both are described below.

General Requirements

To enter the Lottery, an applicant must be able to claim nativity in an eligible country. Nativity, in most cases, is determined by the applicant's place of birth.

Persons from ALL COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD ARE ELIGIBLE to participate in the Green Card Lottery, EXCEPT persons born in the following countries:
CANADA, CHINA (mainland, except Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan), COLOMBIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, EL SALVADOR, GREAT BRITAIN (and its dependent territories*, except Northern Ireland), HAITI, INDIA, JAMAICA, MEXICO, PAKISTAN, PHILIPPINES, SOUTH KOREA and VIETNAM.

*The following dependent areas of Great Britain are not eligible to participate in the Lottery: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, St. Helena, Turks and Caicos Islands.

You may still qualify to participate in the Lottery even if you were born in one of the ineligible countries listed above. There are 2 exceptions:

If your spouse was born in an eligible country, then you can claim your spouse's country of birth.

If one of your parents was born in an eligible country, then you can claim your parent's country of birth.

A short statement explaining how you satisfy this exception must be included on your application.

Education/Training Requirements

To enter, an applicant must have EITHER:
A high school education or its equivalent, defined in the US as successful completion of a 12-year course of elementary and secondary education, OR
2 years of work experience within the past 5 years in an occupation requiring at least 2 years of training or experience to perform.

Become an American citizen for $45

Don't click on anything, not that much is working yet.

Message:
If any "amnesty" for illegal aliens is pushed and passed by Ridge or Bush, I will not vote for Bush in 2004. And this includes any form of "amnesty" at all -- whether in the form of penalties, or whatever. Illegals should be deported, and anyone that knowingly hires illegals should be fined. ENFORCE THE LAWS!!!

The family reunification component of this has not been discussed at all in the media, because they don't understand the implications.

With, say, 10 million being amnestied (it would take 10-15 years), we could expect to see on average another 3 "immigrants" brought in under "family reunification" auspices. In other words, a total of about 40 million people made legal, voting "Americans" over about a 20 year period.

That is about half the population of Mexico. Since it is reasonable to assume that half the population of Mexico is related to the other half, it means that, eventually, all Mexicans would be either citizens of the United States, or related to one who could petition to bring them here. Of course, about half way into this process, their political weight would allow them to simply vote to obliterate the border, obviating any need for cumbersome procedures like petitioning for a residency permit for Tia Maria.

That is the real outcome of this proposal. No one is discussing it except Tancredo and the advocacy groups like CIS, FAIR and NumbersUSA. It is a fundamental shift in the dominant ethnography of the United States.

Do we all really want to sit by and simply talk about amnesty and how unfair it is (it is, of course), when the real question is - do we want the U.S. to become, literally, Mexico?

If someone else hasn't already posted this, here's the White House comment line and the Capitol building number:

WHITE HOUSE TEL. COMMENT LINE# (202) 456-1111 or 456-1414. When you call, there will be a recording asking you if you want to leave a message for Pres.Bush, but continue to hold and a live operator will come on the line to speak to.

TOLL FREE TEL.# to the CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD OPERATOR TEL# 1-877-762-8762 and ask the operator for your two U.S. Senators and the to be connected to your U.S. Representative. (In case the other line is busy)

No Person can be considered a "Contributor" to America un-less they are Identified, fingerprinted, placed on the Tax rolls and Social Security with a permanent Address making them a legal Tax paying Citizen;subject to all the rights and provisions this Country provides to its citizens. Otherwise they continue to be a scab and a botch "WE THE PEOPLE"are obligated to support. This is a pay as you go society and not a free lunch. If you live here you work here speak the FIRST Language and swear allegiance to the Constitution then you get to share equally in a system "EVERBODY" Supports and pays into! Time to come out of the woodworks and live in the open or follow your noses back across the Borders!

Doesn't Bush KNOW THIS??? Come on, he must know that his base is severely angry with him over illegal immigration. He is going to be hurt by his stance!

I cannot figure out why he is pandering to Mexico or to illegals. >>>>>>>>

'Legal status for mexican illegals', traded for 'mexican oil' is the rumor I keep hearing.

It won't be limited to just Mexicans either. It's plenty easy for a Guatemalan or anyone else to obtain a Mexican birth certificate. They'll all be coming over the border to get in on this next amnesty. All they have to do is claim they've worked here at some point --- there never has to be any proof --- obviously you can't get documents from the "undocumented".

I think it is some kind of globalist plan ---- we're to become some "American Union" which includes all of North America, Central and South America. The USA set up by the founding fathers is to be disintegrated.

Doda? Can you find the article that Ridge voiced he could care less about how we the American 70% feel, because amnesty IS going to happen?>>>>>>>

Don't think I recall *exploding* over that article, but I will look around for it.

The part I don't get is all the benefits are one-way --- Americans are gaining no rights at all on Mexican soil, but their citizens are gaining all rights on ours plus keeping their own.

But you "CAN" require all are Registered ,Identified Fingerprinted and placed on the Tax Rolls & Social Security along with maintaining a Permanent Address to keep track of Them! This is not being done and it should not be allowed to continue!

"Baby Steps" could be used to our advantage i.e. to register/print/dna, etc all applicants.
Do that, & policing would be more manageable
Problem now is that "they" repeatedly sneak in...w/ no consequences.

If GW were smart he'd
1 create a registration list for guest workers, etc.
2.Deny entry on the list to prior violaters/criminals, etc.
WE could expect a voluntary exodus of many..w/ their hope that they might be admitted in time.

There must be consequences

Really?! That is excellent news! Godspeed to them!>>>>>>>>

I've also thought a 'citizens group' should sue the gov't for *choosing* NOT to enforce our immigration laws.

This too brings up that *discrimination* word.

Yes, a conservative spoiler will arise and the result will be President Dean. Not pretty.

At least Dean is telling people he is leftist, Bush wore the Sheep's clothing into the repub hen house. At this time, Bush is as bad as any of the 9 Dwarves (or more so).

Will be voting my conscience this year with the Constitution party.

Actually, we can't make them to do anythng. Many illegals are doing OK operating as they are now -- working in the underground economy, paying no taxes, etc.

Also, what will the government do (if anythng) about the illegals who do NOT register for amnesty? Will they somehow track them down. Will there suddenly be internal enforcement of our immigration laws? Will they start making raids at businesses?

I don't believe for a minute that the Feds will do any of that. Just like they did nothng about protecting the border, the laws, etc. after the '86 amnesty.
