Somebody answer me! OK
What exactly is a large quantity? Who decides what quantity is too large?
Whatever the arbitrary amount is that is spelled out in the state and federal laws.
How in the world do you know where he got them from?
Weather he got them from a maid, several doctors, or some punk on the street corner is not material. Only that he ran afoul of the drug laws that are often abused by prosecutors looking to pad their careers.
Is the government now going to decide that I've got too many advil in my possesion?
Don't give them any ideas. And welcome to the drug war.

Oxycotin is a controlled substance that must be prescribed by a medical doctor. There are limits to how many pills one may be prescribed in a 30 day period.
If indeed Rush had more than he should have had in his possession, then he is in serious trouble.

"It would be interesting to know how many "doctor shopping" prosecutions have actually been pursued. "
. . .if only Rush lived in Hollywood. . .
But surely as a 'first timer' they will go out of their way to be fair. . .but who is running the legal maneuverings against Rush; the loser Dems down there or the Repubs?

Local newscast says that judge will issue a ruling tomorrow on whether prosecutors will be allowed to see Rush's medical records.
Roy Black is quoted as saying he will appeal immediately any adverse decision.
To: Stewart_B
Too bad. If this was someone else, it wouldn't be an issue. His "status" has as much to do with this coverage because he is a well-off conservative.

If I were accused of something I didn't do, I'd want the best. Apparently Roy is one of the better attorneys out there.

Limbaugh was blackmailed, his lawyer says
The Associated Press
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rush Limbaugh was blackmailed by a former maid who later told law enforcement and a tabloid newspaper about his addiction to prescription painkillers, his attorney told a judge on Monday.
Attorney Roy Black said Limbaugh could not complain to authorities about the maid's demand for $4 million because they would use the information against him.
He argued that now prosecutors are attempting to discredit the conservative radio commentator by investigating whether Limbaugh went "doctor shopping" for prescription painkillers. Black said prosecutors violated his client's privacy when they seized medical records from his doctors in Florida and California.
But Palm Beach County prosecutors insist they need to review the records, which are sealed, to determine whether Limbaugh's doctors knew about his frequent prescriptions for painkillers, such as OxyContin and hydrocodone.
Assistant State Attorney James Martz said reviewing the records would be the only way to determine if Limbaugh withheld information from his doctors and if he violated the law.
Judge Jeffrey A. Winikoff did not say when he would decide whether the records should be unsealed.

Thanks! Sometimes I get so passionate that I mispell ONE LETTER in a word.
At least I'm not making up facts like the others.
They seem to be in a hopeful speculation.
