WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (CNN) -- As attorneys for Rush Limbaugh went to court Monday to try to keep his medical records out of the hands of Florida prosecutors, there have been negotiations on a possible plea bargain for the conservative talk show host, according to a spokeswoman for his radio network.

Ok, you want to play word games. In the amounts that Rush was using, they were illegally obtained.

"certainly had more pills than he could ever use."

However, she said Limbaugh never intended to sell the drugs.

I'll have to remember that if I'm ever caught with a large amount of illegal drugs. "Intent to deliver? Oh my no, I never intended to sell them".

That one will play real well in courts all over the country. Not.

Somebody answer me!

What exactly is a large quantity? Who decides what quantity is too large?

How in the world do you know where he got them from?

Is the government now going to decide that I've got too many advil in my possesion?

Who said anything about dealing illegal drugs?

They become illegal when you get them illegally.

Questions Questions Questions. Everybody loves to make up facts, but nobody seems to know any of them.

I have a stash of killer pecans and some of them are hidden from others, including (and especially) the nearest and dearest.

Third, I think the "doctor shopping" charge is ridiculous and is a bad law.

In some cases, yes.

I was working with people with these problems some years ago, and one of them was at my house using my phone at about 5:15 pm.

She was calling her doctor, and of course another doctor was on call for phone calls that nite.

She BS'ed him, and got a script for Vicodin (her drug of choice at the time)

I think this law should be applied where necessary.

Let's get real. This is a bunch of gossip and speculation from CNN, who would love to get rid of a major competitor.

I hope it's all gossip, but I'm a little concerned that CNN provides direct quotes and a name:

Keevin Bellows, a spokeswoman for Premier Radio Networks, said Limbaugh's attorney, Roy Black, had been talking with the Palm Beach County state attorney's office about "accepting responsibility for his actions." She also said Black "will be making news today."

LOL, by his own admission he was addicted. That would translate into large amounts, more than can be legally obtained in the legal manner by normally going to a doctor. Or several doctors, or whatever.

The prosecutor got his initial evidence from Rush's housekeeper, but the housekeeper never told the prosecutor that she was blackmailing Rush for $4 million. Prosecutors don't like to employ witnesses who are blackmailing the person on trial. It reeks of collaboration with a blackmailer.

"Of course Rush with his 24 million dollar mansion, 30(40..50??) million dollar contract and millions of adoring cult followers will escape any penalty of course."

Besides the envy in your voice, this wouldn't even be an issue if it were someone else. As was noted, I don't recall Rush being caught "possessing" anything...other than what was illegally obtained from a tape recording, as someone else attempted to blackmail him. I have a freind's father who is a junky, who has been caught two times with non-prescribed narcotics (including forging a script) and even heroin. He has yet to see to see a jail cell (other than being booked) and is currently on his 3rd stint in "forced" rehab. Rush is not getting preferential treatment.

Right.....so I guess that means that prosecutors need to go after everybody that admits that they were at one time an addict.

Jack Osbourne has seen no charges, nor any investigation.

The government needs to stay out unless of course they catch him with an illegal substance.

I've seen no evidence of illegal activity.

I think a large quantity would be the 30,000 pills that Ozzie Osburn's Doctor prescribed for him in one year. Uppers for the morning, downers for sleeping and various and sundry others for during the day...No wonder he couldn't keep the shiny side up on his Quad-runner.

Of course on his TV show he appeared perfectly normal...LOL

Doesn't the fact that we're responding to the notion of him entering a plea bargain kind of stand your reasoning on its head????

I respect him for making the attempt to take responsibility for what happened. Sure, it was prompted by their request for medical records, but it is an attempt to take responsibility.

Is there anything more hypocritical than a overly judgmental person calling someone else a hypocrite?????

I'll bet you money he gets more of a criminal penalty than O.J., Michael Jackson, and Kobe Bryant combined.

I absolutely agree. In his position, it would be far better to get it behind him. Then he could discuss it openly on the air if he wants to, and I think he does.

BTW, I didn't believe this when it first came out, something I'm not a bit ashamed of. I wasn't nasty about it, but I certainly gave Rush the benefit of the doubt, which I hope people who know and like me would also do if I were ever accused of something.

(I didn't do it)

Questions for the prosecutor are:

1. Did you know the housekeeper was blackmailing Rush for $4 million dollars?

2. If not, why didn't you ask the housekeeper if she was blackmailing Rush?

3. If yes, does your office regularly collaborate with blackmailers?
