Al Gore's Son Arrested for Possession of Marijuana
Montgomery County, Md. Police Department ^ | Saturday, December 20, 2003 | Kristinn

Posted on 12/20/2003 4:55:47 PM PST by kristinn

Albert A. Gore III, the son of former Vice President Al Gore, was arrested last night in Bethesda, Md. for possession of marijuana.

According to Montgomery County police, Gore was driving a dark-colored Cadillac through downtown Bethesda around 11:30 p.m. with the car's headlights off.

Police officers who were conducting a campaign against impaired driving during the holiday season stopped the car and noticed that despite the freezing temperature, all the car's windows were open as well as the sunroof.

When the officer spoke with the driver, Mr. Gore, he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car.

When officers searched the car, they found what appeared to be a partial marijuana cigarette near the center console area. They also found a baggie of suspected marijuana inside a cigartette box and a crushed soda can with an odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the can.

Gore and the two passengers in the car were charged with one count of possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. All three were released pending trial.

Al Gore's son cited for DUI
WASHINGTON (AP) — The 19-year-old son of former Vice President Al Gore has been ticketed for driving under the influence near a military base, a Gore family spokesman confirmed Saturday. Albert Gore III, who attends Harvard University, was pulled over and ticketed by military police in the early hours of Sept. 5 just outside Fort Myer in suburban Virginia, but was not taken into custody.

He is to appear in federal court later, a Fort Myer spokesman told the Daily News of New York.

"The family is relieved that no one was hurt," said Gore family spokesman Jano Cabrera. "Beyond that they are dealing with the situation privately as a family."

The younger Gore was cited by the North Carolina Highway Patrol in the summer of 2000 for driving 97 mph in a 55-mph zone. Under an agreement with prosecutors, a reckless driving charge was dropped in the North Carolina case but he was fined $125 for speeding and his driving privileges in the state were suspended.

The last time was for some serious speeding offense I do believe and I think it happened during the pres election in an effort to help his father win. It almost worked...

On some vehicles you can over ride the auto-on lights by clicking the parking brake one notch before starting the engine. It's a good thing to know if you take a drive thought a Christmas Tree Lane and don't want to p#ss off the cars around you as happened to my brother 2 years ago. It was a very traumatic experience for him and his wife. LOL...

That's what just happened to me last night.

I'll try that brake trick you mentioned.

What is this, the 25th story this evening that will help crush the Democrats? They must think the world is coming to an end.

Will Albert A. Gore III endorse Howard Dean?

The media is keeping this quiet as nothing has appeared on google news search.

Apparently so is Montgomery County PD. They don't have any press releases up on their website for yesterday or today.

I listened as Kristinn called MC Police Dept. and spoke with the Media Services person, asking if Albert III had been charged with driving while impaired. The spokesman told Kristinn that he had no further information, other than what was in the press release.

I wonder how long until the "major" media decides to cover the story??

Try it at home a few times and remember to do it with the engine and lights off. I can't say it works on all vehicles but it works on my 99 Silverado Club Coupe 4 X 4 which I proudly classify as a SUV...
