To me, from these photos, I'd guess Saddam is in better health now than he was before the war. Looks like his diet has improved -- whole foods, fresh veggies. He's a strange man with a lot of different motivations, obviously. Dresses like a Tuscany sportsman, likes American fanstasy art, likes old biblical themes, eats the mediterrean diet, and is a ruthless murderer and despotic ruler.

THE PRESIDENT: "Good riddance. The world is better off without you, Mr. Saddam Hussein. I find it very interesting that when the heat got on, you dug yourself a hole and you crawled in it. And our brave troops, combined with good intelligence, found you. And you'll be brought to justice, something you did not afford the people you brutalized in your own country."

Thank you once again. Holy cow, I never saw those morgue photos of Qusai and Uday. I'm not sure I want to know what's in that plastic bag. (But having posted the question, I'm sure someone is going to tell me!)

This is such a happy week for conservatives!

Re: those pro-Saddam rallies. The NY Times reports...
In Tikrit, about 700 people rallied in the center of town Monday chanting ``Saddam is in our hearts, Saddam is in our blood.''

U.S. soldiers and Iraqi policemen yelled back: ``Saddam is in our jail.''

Awesome pictures. But after looking at them, I have to wonder...is there anybody in Iraq that DOESN'T own an AK?

There are probably about 12 AKs in Iraq, and the AP and Reuters boys carry them around as props for the locals to pose with to increase the chance that their photos get published.

(Not really, but their lenses certainly have an affinity for the guns, don't they?)
