You're on my prayer list bro. My granddaughter and I will light a candle for you and yours at mass tomorrow.

Remember this, men are sometimes reticent to reach out for help, don't fall into that trap.

And, it's no accident that music and personal communication play a big role in treating depression. They are exactly the things that our visual society has deemphasized. Many of us feel a need to return to a more oral/aural society, and the lack of that is affecting well being and emotional state.

I think you've made a really good point. Probably why this Forum is so addictive.

and certain that everybody they most love would be better off without them alive.

Isn't that illogical? If the loved one would be better off without them alive, wouldn't they have at least kicked them to the gutter?

Like my wife did? ;^)

I honestly question their motives, whether it is totally altruistic or some need inside to make themselves the center of attention and be seen as Mr. Helper.

I do not. It's real.

Thanks to the both of you. It seems that my Marine family is being depleted altogether TOO rapidly and that on top of the other issues my wife and I are dealing with. I can understand rage, despair and depression. Been there, done that but no longer need the meds (Wellbutrin, Prozac, et al) thanks to the lovely lady who was insane enough to marry me. But now times are getting tough again. I pray I can get through MY part of this without having to resort to going over to my VA P-shrink and getting back on those meds again. Such drugs have their place, but I felt like such a zombie when I was on them. Scary.

I really didn't mean to be insenitive, and grief is emotional, and I empathize with the anger directed towards me, but does that mean stating an opinion that suicide is selfish is forbidden. I have learned a lot by posting on this thread, and life, IMO, is a class everyday and we learn from it everyday to make ourselves better people.

So, how many strokes do you need from a self-proclaimed New York City drug addict? :)

Former New York State resident.

Recovering drug addict.

Hope that helps heaps.

Good. A Dane that learns, that thinks of others before himself, will be a Dane I can really learn to like.

Tough times cause growth. Sounds like the flack you got was growth-inducing. :o)

Just an opinion from a New York City drug addict. :o)

Good luck. Treasure your wife and treat her like the princess she is. You are fortunate to have found one that will stick by you. Mine bailed at the first wisp of trouble. Many of the problems in the marriage were caused by me, though.

You know, considering what we are talking about here, that was one evil post.

Hope you're tough enough to ignore this "Christian," Laz.
