I'm Looking for "Patriot Act" Success Stories

Posted on 12/08/2003 12:16:58 PM PST by PureSolace

All week long I've been talking with other students at the school I go to about the pros and cons of the Patriot Act, and I was wondering if any freepers had any information to contribute. Does anyone have a list of success stories or embarrassments because of the Patriot Act? From the searches that I've done it seems most of the websites on the net are anti Patriot Act because they say it can be abused and target regular everyday citizens, and even peaceful protesters? (That one baffled me) Anyway, Any information or insight you guys can give would be wonderful. Thanks :)

I've got a fun graphic for Brian that I think sums it up.

Maybe the two major parties can save some cash by sharing an emblem.

Also, yes that image is photoshopped. The Waco one isn't.

Haha...another nitwit chimes in on the doctored image.

Alright, find me anoher one showing a desert scheme M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank onthe Mt. Carmel compound at anytime ever. ~grin~ All the media attention, all the networks and news channels with a constant stream of video...surely you could find one source of video or an image [not poorly doctored] showing an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank at Waco? How about one showing the special Heavy Transport needed to carry the Abrams to Mt. Carmel....surely it wouldnt be your position that it drove there?

Hahaha...you idiots.

Perhaps you'd like to defend the source cited for the Abrams stories provided by the other dork?

This is like Barry Bonds at batting practice.

Ok, here are some pictures. Also, do your research. Every list of equipment used at Waco lists at least 2 Abrams tanks that you claim weren't there. If the pics don't convince you and the facts don't convince you, I don't care. Do a google search or shut up. You are only highlighting your own ignorance.

Here's a great PA "success" story, where our brave and honest government defended us from terrorism, well no, according to the article it wasn't remotely related to terrorism. Hmmm, maybe the suspects were violent and dangerous. Well no, there was no violence involved. Turns out they were allegedly white collar criminals laundering money from a strip club. I'm sure that's what the PA was intended for. And we're a whole lot safer now, by golly.
There was also the tip from Eunice Stone (destined to become the Pavlik Morozov of the TIPS program before Dick Armey managed to scuttle that thing) that lead to the capture of three dangerous ......errrrr.....never miiiind.

Isn't it amazing how we allowed 19 men with box cutters to change our lives so dramatically. We've given them so much power over us.
The communist "guerrila" groups of the Cold War era intentionally tried to make the "host government" more repressive, in order to stir up popular discontent.

There were 3 million people running around the I95 corridor when ol'Ben [Franklin] was around...and I dont recall anyone zipping jetliners into 110 story skyscrapers either.

Good L-rd! You're like a parody of a Freeper. (Talking much slower and deliberately, so you get it) This is because there were no airplanes in Franklins time, nor were there skyscrapers.

Nor were there effective fire departments. Cities were indeed potential firetraps, and a small group could have set fires in five or six strategic spots and created as much havoc as September 11th.

The threat existed then. Franklin recognized the real threat.

What, I'm not sure what you are talking about... Leftie??? Well you're just full of insults, a very liberal trait based on the vacuum between the ears... as many say "an anomaly".... wee-wee and cave dwellers??? Are you not getting any??? very Freudian, very sad... I suspect you couldn't hold a debate without name calling or finding some irrelevant quote having to do with the power of kings and using its application to describe the city manager.... really...quite small, I think the term is pedestrian.

Read my posts on this thread, Leftie.

For some unknown reason you chose to ping me with a Hello Kitty graphic which I surmised to be the extent of respect you give towards the wisdom of the Fore Fathers.

I can only assum you are one of those girly men so fearful of cavedwellers that you supported a $200 billion debt financed war fought by teenage girls from West Virginia.

You want me to get civil, read my posts on this thread, and try to post to the limits of your Leftwing intelligence.

Leftwing intelligence??? Girly man??? You sure told me!! What is your problem with Hello Kitty, does she scare you??? Is Hello Kitty too tough for you to handle?? I could care less if you "get civil"; You are clearly out of control and cheaply throw historic quotes around as if they are interchangeable parts usable in any situation. The disrespect is yours for managing a Ben Franklin quote like a $5.00 Swiss Army knife from the flea market... Leftie?? Only a lefty would have such little respect for Ben Franklin as to use his words to sap power from the United States government during times of war...but then, there were always those who thought your way.

Whatever, Leftie. You go on worshipping the DC-tax regime while the rest of go on trying to salvage the culture of the Old Republic.

I must have missed the Declaration of War, BTW.

One thing John, I read your profile and I refrained from personal insults amd I noticed you did the same, (other than calling me leftie)... I pretty sure that is good form.

You posted a Hello Kitty graphic to me as you implied (and continue to imply) that the wisdom of the fore fathers has no relevance to the current matter.

That contention is a Leftwing or Progressive idea, which I stated in antagonistic prose. I am perfectly willing to tolerate left-wingers on this site, but why hide or be embarrassed?

If you wish to argue that the wisdom of the fore fathers is anachronistic, please have at it I only ask that you be intellectually honest and acknowledge that you the foundation of your point is categorically leftwing.
