Today President George W. Bush signed the adoption promotion act of 2003 in the Roosevelt Room of the White House, which is aimed at moving more older children out of foster care and into permanent homes. More than a dozen children attended the adoption bill signing with their adoptive parents.

Later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, President Bush attended a campaign fundraiser.

Also today, President George W. Bush made remarks alongside the best drivers of the 2003 Nascar season and their cars on the South Lawn of the White House. Bush honored the best drivers of the 2003 season, including Matt Kenseth, who won the 2003 Winston Cup series.

He looked so lighthearted surrounded by the children and his wit is so quick when he's relaxed.

I am serious, that is what the article says. Wish I could verify it in some way. That is why I wish some of the troops would email home about her visit. Details! I want more details!

It fits with her character.

My thoughts and prayers are with you tonight so you rest, and tomorrow for the drs. and nurses who will be with you during surgery. AND that your IV goes RIGHT in, the first time, and you don't even feel it. I'm sure the nurses in out-patient surgery are very experienced in starting IV's. (PS I don't like them either!) What you should do is print a whole bunch of your favorite "president" pictures (don't forget the flight suit one!) to take along and gaze at them while she puts the IV in. Distraction big time! Just don't let the nurse see them till AFTER the IV is in or SHE might get distracted.

Blessings and prayers!

If you want to see other ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE interactions between these adoptive families and the President, watch the video at http://www.whitehouse.gov [You can fast forward the video to the bill signing/family interaction portion of the segment -- this is a MUST see!!!]

Hillary keeps shooting herself in the foot and alienating people everywhere. It's really wonderful. Although she's a total selfish power-hungry jerk!

Prairie (I'm keeping my descriptions of her acceptable for the sake of the thread and out of respect for FR rules. It isn't easy.....LOL)

Well, rats! I guess I'm going to have to stay up and see the clip of Brit's. The pictures are great!! I could look at them all day. The little guys look great in their ties and the picture of the lady in tears says it all to me. I really feel sorry for the people who hate the President; they are missing so much.

This is the first time (since I've come to the Dose) that I've realized what's really at stake with this election, and what the President is doing. I love him, too. I feel like if he walked in the room right now, we could have a conversation and I wouldn't feel uncomfortable at all (think he likes pink pajamas? Don't worry, they're not sexy at all). He's a REAL person!

Michael Douglas. Yeah the show was about reverse sexual intimidation in the work place.

I'd love to see her publically disgraced too. And usually people of her kind tend to do themselves in eventually, through their own methods. It's unfortunate that they often tend to cause a lot of damage in the meantime and drag others down with them.

I'm so happy that your surgery went well -- I'm also ecstatic that you discovered what was causing your post-perative pain!

Now be a good patient and let your family spoil you rotten!!

I remember that moment in the debate very well. It's amazing the number of people who didn't catch that look that Bush gave Gore.

You're right - for the people who noticed (only the truly brain dead could have missed it, IMO) - that's when Bush won.

Gore looked like a demented stalkers. And Barbara Bush the next morning on one of the talk shows was asked, were you nervous he was going to hit George? LOL. I've forgotten her response, but something along the line that she knew George could take care of himself.

Hi Prairie!

Yeah, him! I knew someone would know. Great movie.

***I'd love to see her publically disgraced too. And usually people of her kind tend to do themselves in eventually, through their own methods. It's unfortunate that they often tend to cause a lot of damage in the meantime and drag others down with them. ***

I think the pres. is just letting her continually look like a fool, because he'll have plenty of ammo to use IF she decides to run in 2004. But you're right about the damage they do--look what she just did, talking to the troops. But the more time she has, the more likely she is to fall, big, and in public. I can't wait! I pray that the damaging stuff she says isn't even heard by those around her; that their ears are closed to it.

It was when the child's statement about his adoption year didn't jibe with his age and Bush grinned and said,Well,I'll have to speak to my "fact checker"...I think!
