It would have to be some damn fine pizza considering who I'd be dining with.
Besides, I'm gonna pass. I don't like who I'd have to thank for it.

Why not do address lookups on those hosting the parties and post 'em?That's easy to do, but I can only think of two legitimate uses of the info. 1.) Show up outside the house or place and protest the lefties. 2.) Register and go to the party and debate the leftists (better have one or more FRiends to watch your back).
Hats off to the Protest Warriors, who have the best idea:

OTOH, may not want to be in the same room at all--you never know what you might come down with...

Wyers Point Rd is a stretch of pretty nice lakefront houses in Ovid owned by people who typically work in (you guessed it)
Ithaca, the City of Evil.

There are two such parties in Ithaca:
Bush Sucks! (69 registered participants)
Anabel Taylor Hall - Edwards Room
Ithaca, NY
Bush sucks!
Sunday, December 7, 06:00 PM
"Uncovered" screening and discussion (13 registered participants)
First Unitarian Church Annex, Buffalo Street off Aurora Ithaca, New York
As part of a nationwide coordinated "party" hosted by MoveOn.org that will engage thousands of people around the country, we will be screening the new documentary Uncovered: The Whole Truth about the Iraq War. The film runs 56 minutes, and we will have a discussion afterward. Read more about the documentary and see a trailer at http://www.truthuncovered.com/ and read more at www.moveon.org. Together, we hope to get the truth out and raise some money to help MoveOn make sure that people in key battleground states know the real story about how we went to war.
(First Unitarian is the stone church at the corner of Aurora and Buffalo. The annex is three doors down on Buffalo in the building behind the church. Entrance is right on Buffalo across from the City Hall parking lot, in which you can park on Sunday) $5 suggested donation, and some cheap but good finger food and beverages. All proceeds will go to MoveOn.org after we give the Unitarian Church a donation for its graciousness in allowing us to use its space. So we can get a chair count, RSVP to Maura Stephens at mstephens@ithaca.edu

Apparently, the one in Ovid is tied to a local winery:
Sheldrake Point Vineyards, and is being sponsored by
Jan Jorrin - Special Events Manager:
Jan left the bustling world of Madison Avenue marketing to return to her beloved farm on the shores of Cayuga Lake, just north of Sheldrake Point, and we were lucky enough to convince her that her promotional and managerial talents would be ideal for our special events guests. Whether you are planning a special gathering for 20 or an event for 200, Jan will work with you to design a truly memorable experience.
Too bad. I liked that winery...until now.

And oh my, more Unitarians. I have the distinct displeasure of meeting some Unitarians up close and personal "behind the curtain" so to speak.

I'm just curious. What delineates the difference between a cult and a recognized religion? The left likes to manipulate the Constitution with word games. Maybe we should start defining some terms that interest US.
And is it legal for churches to be hosting political/anti-war planning meetings if they receive any Federal funding?
I'm going to have to think more on this tomorrow (today). Over and out.

Churches hosting any kind of political events.....this seems contrary to what is allowed by law for all churches, because it is a "religious organization" and has tax exemption by that status, though I may be incorrect. I remember, while living in California, a pastor was concerned about speaking out about a candidate from the pulpit (pro or con) because of that very reason....he didn't even want the appearance of a political endorsement.....though he, of course, felt free to say, "your Christian duty is to vote."
If the church is receiving federal funds for daycare programs, tuition assistance, etc., I would think, even more so, that religious organizations that are receiving federal funds must be neutral in its political expression....definitely worth checking into, Kudsman.

That is the slippery slop that the legal word games set up. I don't think there is a way to define the difference without taking Christianity into the definitions.

Non-profit organizations cannot protray any political information at their place of business. ie...candidate endorsement or prop endorsement at election time. I know cause I wanted to put a signed Dole poster in my office and my superiors said no go.
