In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

According to a friend of the Leahy family (as in Leaky Leahy) he and a host of other democrats HATE the Clintons.
It's easy to understand why - they steal all their air time.

Dumps! LOL
Actually, I get pretty down in the dumps when I consider the possibility of another Clinton White House.
Although, realistically, I don't think the Evil One stands a chance. Even many Democrats hate her. Certainly very few men would vote for her; perhaps a few metrosexuals.
Must run and try to get rid of the sour taste in my mouth that I get just discussing Satan in a Pantsuit.

If the US Attorney General actually followed his oath of office
hitlery would not be "visiting" our troops.
She would be prison for her crimes and "speaking" with fellow inmates.

It irritates me because whenever I can bring myself to peek at DU I see death threats against our side. They aren't even careful not to threaten the President directly over there.
But WE have to be good.
We do, of course, but right now I don't know how she could face the majority of her constituents who haven't forgotten 9/11 (WONDER WHY THAT IS???) and have no problem with the current action and main losses taking place on foreign soil.

There was one benefit for the troops from Haggery's visit: Nothing else they may encounter during the remainder of their tour of duty, will even come close to being as ugly or as filled with spite and venom.

My initial temptation was to blast her as the totally demonic jerk she is, but I then decided this is more comical than it is serious.
Hillary is hoping this happens, and grasping at straws. By sewing the seeds of discontent with the troops, she's hoping may gain a few points. I'm sure if there was discontent, the first troops so say so would have been paraded before cameras as quickly as possible.
The troops were more excited about the turkey dinner than they were about her gracing them with her heinous presence. Hence she failed miserably again at her attempts to undermine our country.
Its hilarous. Hillary just babbles on, clinging to her fantasy world, while the house of cards collapses around her neck.

No statement. But our friend is engaged to Leahy's daughter and has spent time with the leaky Senator.
Doesn't mean he doesn't support the Clinton policies, but he certainly had some unkind things to say about the Clintons and wishes they would go away.
Unless he was just telling lies himself and trying to appease our staunchly conservative friend who is the fiance.
Gotta run.

I am shocked beyond belief that she said that to troops in a war zone. I truly thought I couldn't be any more shocked but no matter how hard I try they always shock me again. This is so repulsive and unbelieveable,,is it a joke? And I am curious as to why the troops didn't boo her.
