In a demoralizing message to U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq, visiting New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told them that Americans back home are growing increasingly skeptical of President Bush's decision to send them into battle.
Describing two meetings with G.I.s over turkey dinners in Baghdad, Sen. Clinton told reporters later that soldiers wanted to know "how the people at home feel about what we are doing."
Clinton said she told the troops, "Americans are wholeheartedly proud of what you are doing but there are many questions at home about the (Bush) administration's policies."
She also suggested that the U.S. could eventually loose the war in Iraq, contending, "We have to exert all of our efforts militarily, but the outcome is not assured."
Despite her sour pronouncements, the former first lady insisted that the soldiers were just as glad to see her as they were President Bush, whose surprise visit less than 24-hours earlier was greeted with standing ovations.
"It's a positive for the commander-in-chief to visit troops in the field," Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."
Speaking from a secure location just over the Kuwaiti border, Mrs. Clinton launched one verbal salvo after another at the White House, arguing that Bush officials had been "obsessed" with getting Saddam Hussein and saying the perception blinded them to the difficulties of deposing his regime.
"The Pentagon tried to make do with as few troops as possible, as light a footprint as they could get away with," Clinton said. "Now, we're playing catchup . . . Unfortunately, I don't think they fully appreciated the conditions we would encounter."
The top Democrat also reprised her charge that the White House is being less than candid when it comes to apprising the American people of the costs of the war.
"The obstacles and problems here are much greater than the administration usually admits to," she said, adding, "Everybody has to be honest."

She's supposed to be over there boosting morale, not deflating it.She's a pig. She should try to deflate her bloated ankles, thighs, and a** instead, and leave our boys and girls alone! Darn, I feel so petty.

Can Hillary bin Laden (Al-Qaeda, NY), be censured by the United States Senate for making these statements during a time of war? If so, LET'S GET TO IT! This creature needs to be demoted to pariah status, and any one else who supports her deserves the same: you have friends, relatives, acquaintances who support this beast? Pariah city...turn your back on them; shut them out of your lives, make them pay a HIGH PRICE for embracing this despicable human being.

Hillary: I ordered these soldiers not to smile. I didn't want
their pearly whites detracting from
myself.

Clinton told reporters, adding, "the troops [also] seemed to appreciate seeing myself."A well-adjusted adult would not have felt the need to state that lie. Then again, she's never been well-adjusted.
She's just over there trying to sway absentee ballots.

Not a big shock really. Why else would she have gone over to visit troops? Those who have served under the Clinton administration excpected nothing less from this woman. She gave our older troops good reason to educate the younger troops about the trails and tribulations under the Clintons.
Americans need to let our troops know that they are supported even if Hodgi-mama Hilliary has visited. Our troops aren't stupid. This is something they will go home and talk to friends about.

--Suggesting that they'll lose in Iraq and die.
--Suggesting that the American people's support is fading.
--Suggesting their bosses are failures who don't care about their lives. This story needs to grow wings and fly to every radio talk host and news outlet in the country. NewsMax doesn't count; they just hash and rehash news items (but at least they hate the Clintons.)
This needs to be reported widely. These quotes of hers need to be plastered everywhere, and preserved for future use.
If there ever was a time for us to act, it is now.

Is there a link for websites soldiers use? --a place where we can post messages of truth and support directly to those in service ... i hope you start a thread once you've found out, with lots of links to make it doable for the computer- and time- challenged.

"I have to agree with riri. Having said that, the media has changed drastically since 1992 and even 1996...primarily due to FNC. Hillary will need to enter enemy territory, one that didn't exist on a national scale during "her" first two terms as co-president.
Additionally, I believe at least 5% of the American public have wised up and crossed the line against The Clintons since; Monica, Impeachment, The Pardons, 9-11, GWB Presidency. The Clintons never got more than 49% of the vote, and I think their support has waned at least a few %'s from there."
You agree with riri, and then practically go on to prove she cannot win(with reasoned logic, I might add):)

During this entire trip, has the old pus-bag had one, JUST ONE, negative thing to say about Saddam? All I hear is Bush-bashing and defeatism. I hope someone put a pubic hair on her slice of turkey.
