Nellie Connally Disputes Warren Commission

For all the coverage generated by the 40th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination this past weekend, the media managed to miss the only genuine news to emerge from the commemoration.

Nellie Connally, wife of former Texas Gov. John Connally and the only person still alive who rode in the presidential death limousine, publicly disputed for the first time the Warren Commission's "magic bullet" theory, a scenario absolutely essential to its finding that Lee Harvey Oswald was Kennedy's lone assassin.

A year after the assassination the Commission concluded that Kennedy and Gov. Connally were both wounded by the first shot fired by Oswald from the Texas School Book Depository. A second shot missed completely. A third shot slammed into Kennedy's head and splattered his brains throughout the car.

But Mrs. Connally told CNN's Larry King that Kennedy and her husband couldn't have been struck by the same bullet, because she watched her husband react over a period of two seconds after the first shot struck the president.

"John [Connally] sitting right in front of him knew it was a shot," the former Texas first lady said. "He's a hunter and a shooter, you know. . . ."

Mrs. Connally continued:

"So he turned quick to his right and he couldn't see [Kennedy] because he was directly in front of him. And he said, 'No, no, no' and turned to his left. . . . Now this is a second or two. Then, as he whirled back, the second shot hit John . . ."

When pressed about the single bullet theory adopted by the Warren Commission, Mrs. Connally told King, "Do you think a bullet that went through the president's neck can hang there in air between the two seats while John turned to the right, turned to the left and came back?

"That's what I asked the Warren Commission," she explained. "I said, 'I don't believe a bullet could do that. That bullet -- the same bullet did not hit both of them.'"

Your link doesn't address the obvious spray from the right temporal region and the lack of a "hole" or missing scalp/bone in this area in subsequent frames.

Also strangely missing is the blood and matter on Jackie and her clothing.

Who cares, if there were an alternative story it wouldn't be believed either.

How plausible is it that one bullet could have done all that this one is required to have done? For the magic bullet to have done what it had to do to satisfy the three-shot requirement, it would have had to pass through Kennedy's back, out Kennedy's neck, into Connaly's shoulder, richochet down and to the left to strike Connaly in the arm hard enough to break the bone, pass through his arm and into his leg with enough residual force to chip another bone, exit the leg, then hide in Connaly's clothes until he gets to the hospital, then exit Connaly's leg by means of worming its way free onto a strecher at Parkland Hospital, then conceal itself long enough so that it was not dicovered until JFK's body was already back in Washington.

The back wound was inferior to the first thoracic vertebra and did not penetrate more than the first joint of the finger.

The throat wound was a wound of entry.

The Connallys have both maintained from day one that the governor was not hit by the same bullet that struck the president.

And it would have to do all that without losing almost any of its mass and with almost no deformation! An identical bullet was fired through a cadaver's arm and came out as smashed as a toadstool. The 'magic' bullet supposedly passed through five times as much bone and tissue but came out looking almost new.

Specter admitted none of the test bullets duplicated the feat of his Magic Bullet, which he concocted never having seen the X-rays.

The first outsider to see the X-rays was Lattimore the urologist who pronounced Kennedy's adrenals normal--

--this despite the fact they would only appear with special dye. The autopsists make no reference to special dye so--

--Lattimore was hallucinating or looking at someone else's X-ray.

For the Warren Commission's version of events to be true, that same pristine or 'magic' bullet not only had to be invulnerable to damage, it had to be able to change course in mid-air and hover. The entry wound on JFK's back was about three inches below the shoulder, but the exit wound was in his throat, almost six inches higher. Somehow, once it entered JFK's back, the bullet did an instant 90 degree turn upwards without deflecting off anything, then another 90 degree turn back toward the same direction it had originally been going as it exited Kennedy's throat. Then, as shown by the Zapruder film, the bullet had to wait in the air almost two seconds before taking off again to put all those wounds in Connaly.

Connally's wounds present fragments which could not have originated from the Magic Bullet.

Arlen Specter asked the President's autopsist, Dr. Humes, whether the "magic bullet" could have been the same one that was embedded in the Governor's thigh. Humes replied, "I think that extremely unlikely. The reports [from Parkland] tell of an entrance wound on the lower mid-thigh of the Governor, and X-rays taken there are described as showing metallic fragments in the bone, which apparently by this report were not removed from . . . Governor Connally's thigh. I can't conceive of where they came from this missile." Drs. Pierre Finck and J. Thornton Boswell, also present at the autopsy, concurred with this statement.

At frame 255 Kennedy has no glasses on, by frame 323 after his brains are blown out, he is wearing sunglasses - how does one explain that?

Thanks for the input! Appreciate it. It does make sense that Connelly would not have reacted in the 2 or so seconds between those shots.

Oh No Nellie, it doesn't matter if you were there, it doesn't make any difference if your very own husband who was supposed to shot from the same bullet as JFK knew better. No, you can't be right! Anyone saying the Warren commission wasn't true and just cover up hogwash is a tin foil hatter! </extreme sarcasm

I have fired a .308 silenced. It still makes noise but you can't tell that it is a rifle. Anybody there with all the confusion and cars and noise would not know such a powerful round was fired nor where it was. Not saying a .308 was used just that such a loud weapon can be disguised.

If you check the autopsy diagrams and photos it appears much more likely that the first hit came from the front and above, went through the throat and exited out the back. This should have left a bullet in the seat or trunk.

Are there really people out there messing with our minds?

I'm convinced of it. And I very much appreciate the information you posted. Fascinating.

The amazing thing to me is that there is anyone who still believes Oswald acted alone or that Oswald wasn't a patsy. There was a conspiracy. Get over it.

Shot 1 hits pavement

Mrs Connally accounts for 3 shots:

Shot 2 hits President
Shot 3 hits Gov
Shot 4 kills Pres

But wait there were only 3 shots right?

I checked out your links and recognize that opinions I have held based on my own prior viewing of Zapruder are not necessarily as clearcut as I remember. Therefore, the SBT is more possible than I originally thought.

I am retired Dallas PD so I am not ignorant in the issue, and I am also acquainted first hand with some of the retired officers who were there. The fact remains, the investigation was botched and sloppy and the commission was a sham. As a result, we'll never know what really happened. Not you. Not me.

Great post! And agreed, we're never going to know, are we? So frustrating. But that's what keeps all of us going on this issue. No matter what side we're on!

You should have used the "LBJ did it" statement like all the others and quit.

LOL! Appreciate the humor, Shooter, even though I don't agree with most of your posts!

What do you know about the Winnipeg Airport conversation, in which a guy said he overheard Ferrie talking with two others about the assassination?

I am not familiar with this claim.

That's what I thought I had read. And you answered an earlier question of mine, Phil!

At this point, I don't believe we will. They (our govt) will have had 75 or so years to muck it up.

They'll never tell us the truth.

Last year I attended an autopsy of a young man shot with a 9mm hydroshock round that entered his shoulder just behind the clavicle, drilled down through his thorax, through his diaphragm, through his liver, exited his pelvis via the obduator foramen, traveled down the entire length of his thigh, disrupted his knee, traveled down the periosteum of his fibula, disrupted his ankle and came to rest after exiting the sole of his foot, and was found lying free- in his shoe. And every gram of the round was there - no deformation - no loss of substance. Now THERE'S a magic bullet.

That's my point. They have 75 uninterrupted years to make and bake all the evidence.
But you know it doesn't matter so much who did it now. The fact that our own government is covering up is proof enough.
