Lost Kennedy tapes Dallas WBAP 820 AM: Running to the Hill
Me

Posted on 11/22/2003 11:15:28 AM PST by Treeless Branch

I live in Dallas and am listening to WBAP, which is re-broadcasting its braodcast from the day Kennedy was killed. Very interestng. First eyewitness interviewed by WBAP claims there were 2 shots fired from the hill (i.e. grassy knoll). She then says that she ran towards the hill where the shots were fired in order to see who fired the shots. I find this revealing because people who support the lone gunmen theory always support their position by stating that shots could not have come from the grassy knoll because the eyewitneses ran towards the knoll, i.e. why would someone risk their lives by running towards where shots were being fired from? Apparently, this first eyewitness gives the answer: to find the gunmen.

FYI- the tapes are being broadcast in real time, and reveals the confusion and early rumors of the day.

I hope WBAP makes some CD copies of this material...especially their
"lost" tapes.
I'm listening to the funeral of JFK; of course I watched it as a little child
on B&W TV at my grandparents...but I'm suprised at how much of the music of the
ceremony is "light" martial music...but now it's getting somber as they
procession reaches the cathedral.

I think of all the turmoil that has happened to this country in the past 40 years...
and I almost get that feeling that some higher power has preserved us over those years.

I believe in a conspiracy to kill Kennedy, and here is why...

Oswald could not do the shooting in the manner concluded by the Warren Commission.

NINE wounds with 3 bullets, one of them a head wound that caused brain matter to fly backwards onto a motorcycle cop 25 feet behind Kennedy's limo.

Now, who made up this conspiracy is anybody's guess, and makes for interesting debate. But the "official" conclusion that Oswald alone killed Kennedy is crap.

It was the live link in the left-hand column. It sounds like hocky now. Sorry you missed it. The History channel is showing some interesting things, though.

The Secret Service says they had no such men posted there. If these eye-witnesses were not lying.....?WELL....there has to be an explanation.

I would guess that some of the Secret Service agents ran towards the Grassy Knoll. They don't have to be posted there to end up there.

I still don't see any conspirator would want to work so hard to cover up shots from the Grassy Knoll. Why couldn't they just say Oswald was there instead of the Book Depository? Or say that Oswald had an accomplice there?

"Oswald could not do the shooting in the manner concluded by the Warren Commission."

Say's who? He only had to operate the bolt action twice. It was an easy shot.

I keep an open mind about conspiracies/set-ups, but that FrontLine special did a pretty good job of making the case that Oswald was just an obsessed nut who did have a good day of shooting.

But the show also pointed out that he disappeared from job and wife in New Orleans on some crucial occasions, and, on one of those occasions, some Cuban sisters in Houston claim he was brought to their front door by some Cuban exile thugs, who were talking up a conspiracy.

Only to people who ignore the facts and distort them to fit their distorted conspiracy story.

"Oswald could not do the shooting in the manner concluded by the Warren Commission.

The Warren Commission said the fastest he could have fired the 3 shots was 4.5 seconds, 11 shooters in a 1975 CBS Documetary made them in a range of 4.1 to 6 seconds, and the HSCA tests put the time for the 3 shots at 3.3 seconds. Source for these figures where taken from the well referenced book 'Case Closed'.

None of these took into account the first shot that missed. The '90's computer enhancement of the Zapruder film along with ear and eyewittness testimony put the time needed to 8 to 8.4 seconds. Source 'Case Closed' by Gerald Posner.

Good you have seen the light. Now shut the hell up.

You sir are the one that should shut up. Look at the posts on this thread and you will find it dominated by your insults and ignorance of the facts surrounding the events in Dallas that day.

You are correct, the FrontLine show did admit there were periods of time in which
their investigation couldn't pin down Oswald's location and possible meeting with
putative conspirators.

As I said I keep an open mind, but I generally favor three scenarios, in this order of
preference:

1. Oswald was a lone gunman and sole motive force for JFK's assassination.
2. Oswald was a lone gunman, but manipulated as a patsy by co-conspirators
3. Oswald had fellow snipers and co-conspirators.

LBJ, J. Edgar Hoover, and Richard Nixon all attended a dinner party in Hoover's honor held at the Dallas home of oilman Clint Murchison the evening of Nov. 21, 1963. LBJ's mistress, who was also at the party, said that LBJ told her at the party that, after the next day, the Kennedys would never embarrass him again. I just learned she recently died, but the report is in her relatively recent book (as well as being cited by Barr McClellan in his book).

The thing that gets me, and reinforced by listening to the real-time Ft Worth broadcast is how they bagged Oswald so fast after the event. It is almost like they were looking for him before the assassination.

Oswald bagged himself when he shot (and killed) Dallas Police Officer J. D. Tippit in front of 12 very credible witnesses, two of whom followed him to the theater where he was apprehended after trying to shot another cop.

.....
.....
".....would guess that some of the Secret Service agents ran towards the Grassy Knoll. They don't have to be posted there to end up there......"

Every person has a name. No Secret Service agents i.d'd themselves as these "agents." Also, they were turning people away from the Knoll a half an hour before the motorcade appeared.

The Secret Service acknowledged "these" were not "theirs"
~~~
~~~
".....the Grassy Knoll. Why couldn't they just say Oswald was there instead of the Book Depository? Or say that Oswald had an accomplice there......?

If Oswald had "AN accomplice".........he might of had MORE accomplices.

"LONE NUTS" don't have acomplices!

Also, Oswald worked at the Depository. He was there at noon. The Motorcade was due at 12:20.

To get him "to the Knoll unseen" would have been dificult in a short time.

Also,,,,,he WAS at the Depository. Hence, no "other" made necessary.
~~~
The Depository co-workers who told the WARREN COM. that they heard shells falling on the floor above them were asked what they did then. Did they think of looking for the shooter?
They answered that they ran over to the far window to see over the Knoll into the Railroad Yard. They were not asked why they did this.
