It's the Eid-al-Fitr, the three-day feast that signals the end of Ramadan, the Muslim month of fasting. But I can't find any connection to that being another name for Allah.
I think Eid-al-Fitr also the time when the cresent moon, their symbol, is best seen in the Middle East.
Just IMHO, not a big fan of religion based on astronomy, augury, or Mother Earth. And I think about only 20% of Muslims are sane.

Two explosions hit Baghdad hotel
Fri November 21, 2003 12:01 AM ET
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Two explosions have rocked the Sheraton Hotel, used by many Western journalists and contractors, in central Baghdad, Reuters witnesses say.
The neighbouring Palestine Hotel also appeared to have been hit around the 16th or 17th floor, a Reuters witness said.
Sheraton hotel guests, who evacuated the building, saw shards of glass scattered across the lobby. They said several people were at least slightly injured.
At least two holes were punched in windows at the Sheraton, witnesses said. A security guard at a nearby building said he had seen a rocket or rocket-propelled grenade fly through the air towards the hotel.
The Sheraton, which still uses the name of the luxury hotel chain although it is no longer part of it, is located in a fortified compound along with the Palestine, which is also used by Western journalists and contractors.

Explosions Shake Iraq's Oil Ministry BAGHDAD, Iraq - Explosions shook Iraq's oil ministry on Friday morning, witnesses said, and thick black smoke poured from the heavily guarded compound.
Fire trucks moved about the ministry and U.S. soldiers kept journalists away.
Imad Ahmed, a retired civil servant who lives near the ministry, said he heard five explosions at about 7:30 a.m.
The attack occurred minutes after at least three rockets were fired into the Palestine and Sheraton hotels in downtown Baghdad where many U.S. workers and foreign journalists are staying.

I can sleep next to a 120mm cannon and a turbine engine. RPGs are an annoyance at best.

Attacks on US troops down 70% since the start of Operation Squeeze'em Tighter. Yeah they are laying low again just like they did before, before May 1, 2003.

But right now, I think this was nothing to be really concerned about.Unless one's name is Tom Daschle.
Then you would be DEEPLY concerned.

I bet you can jump out of a tall building with a single bounce wearing your cape with the S on it too. You know what the S is for don't you.

We need more well trained sniper teams on the loose. The last thing an "insurgent" wants is a highly motivated sniper team looking to kill him. It only takes a few good examples to plant the seeds of serious fear.

Well I don't know which is worse. Gerhard Schroeder is completely helpless.
A reporter stuck a mic in Schroeder's face today after asking him about his feelings regarding the bombing in Istanbul and Schroeder responded that he was completely helpless.

Its like throwing a dirt clod at a battleship. All you get is a loud bang and falling glass and you get 15 mins of fame. Unfortunately, that's all it takes for the Democrats and the Liberal media to proclaim a failed war and a quagmire.

We need more well trained sniper teams on the loose.Sounds like a plan, however where does one place them?
These terrorists aren't tree's!
They do move around, and in numbers, simultaneously.
The major obsticle, IMHO, is the well founded concern for collateral damage, otherwise this conflict would be very short lived.
Snipers aren't the issue, for if we used snipers, that means we know where the terrorists are and who they are.
If that was the case this conflict would have been completed and wrapped up long ago.
