Al Qaida commander 'anticipates' 100,000 Americans dead in attack

Special to World Tribune.com MIDDLE EAST MEDIA RESEARCH INSTITUTE Thursday, November 13, 2003 Al-Qal'a (The Fortress) an Islamist Internet forum, posted the first of a two-part interview with a person who introduced himself as Abu Salma Al-Hijazi, one of the Al Qaida commanders closest to Osama bin Laden.(1) The interview was conducted in Iraq, south of Faluja. The article notes that Al-Hijazi was surrounded by five masked men carrying missiles as well as personal weapons. The following are excerpts from the interview:

In regard to rumors about a large-scale attack against the U.S. during the month of Ramadan, Al-Hijazi said that "a huge and very courageous strike" will take place and that the number of infidels expected to be killed in this attack, according to primary estimates, exceeds 100,000. He added that he "anticipates, but will not swear, that the attack will happen during Ramadan."

He further stated that the attack will be carried out in a way that will "amaze the world and turn Al Qaida into [an organization that] horrifies the world until the law of Allah is implemented, actually implemented, and not just in words, on His land... You wait and see that the balance of power between Al Qaida and its rivals will change, all of a sudden, Allah willing."

Regarding Al Qaida detainees, Al-Hijazi said: "We follow their situation closely... the collaborating governments will pay the price for capturing these heroes who want to revive the glory of their nation and shake off the dust of humiliation and disgrace."

Al-Hijazi added that the "collaborating and treacherous" governments should know that Al Qaida has a long reach and its members enjoy popularity that will not end just because apostate governments detain hundreds of Al Qaida's members. "As soon as the governments detain one of our people, ten like him join us... this is no secret."

Al-Hijazi said that Al Qaida instructed its members not to confront the governments of Islamic countries and clarified that Americans are the main target of the organization, wherever they may be, in order to cause their disintegration and collapse, even if it takes a long time. "We are patient," he added, "our patience will only end with the collapse of America and its agents."

Al-Hijazi also said: "There is no doubt that the demise of America and its collapse will lead to the collapse of these fragile regimes that depend on it... We will not stop until we establish the Islamic Caliphate and until Allah's law is implemented in His land."

When asked about the recent bombing in Riyadh, Al-Hijazi referred to Saudi media reports — which claimed that in the attack Muslim women and children were killed — as "merely media deceit." He added: "This place was under surveillance for many months. Following a thorough investigation, it became perfectly clear to us that the people living there were at least 300 Americans and a large group of Lebanese Christians who had tortured Muslims there, in Lebanon, during the civil war. After consultation, we decided it was appropriate to attack this place and destroy it, including the people who lived there, because it housed Americans and a large majority of Christians holding Lebanese citizenship.

"Since the Saudi government is aware of the sensitivity of this place and that it is a declared target for Al Qaida, it surrounded it with very heavy security. However, we gave our people in Riyadh a green light to destroy it on top of those inside. Allah facilitated breaking into the place and bombing the part in which mostly Americans stayed. As a result, praise Allah, at least 40 Americans were killed, as well as 27 Christians from Lebanon, and a group of citizens who were Muslim; also, at least 70 Americans were injured, as well as more than 30 citizens of other countries, most of them Christians from Lebanon."

According to Al-Hijazi, a Saudi religious scholar who is wanted by Saudi authorities will claim responsibility in a televised communiqué for the bombing "and for other operations to come." He added that the wills of the attackers will be published, apparently, in the month of Shawwal — the month following Ramadan according to the Muslim calendar - when Al Qaida's main website, Al-Nida, is due to be reactivated.

If...if....if this is true then the only possibility is nuclear...and not a "dirty" bomb. There aren't any/many events where you find 100,000 'infidels' gathered in one place...except a city.

"Oh, dear me, yet another trash-talking turban boy. If he could lift weights he'd have a great career in the WWE."

Instead, he prefers to prominantly display a big gun, especially when being photographed, in order to make up for his personal....shortcomings. May his Allah eat his gonads.

I dunno. These guys are starting to bore me,,one threat after another, one horrible prognostication after another. Pretty soon you must gotta tune them out. I don't believe they have the wherewithal to do what he says. Or I hope not anyway. Do you all truly think they have a nuke here ready to roll. I just don't.

What exactly do they want? The Americans to become muslim or us to leave the Middle East? Maybe we could strike a deal, we'll get the hell out of there when they pack up every last one of their own including children, college students that permeate our universities with propanda, their overrated engineers and other workers who take American jobs and their women who take way too much fabric to dress themselves. Then we can turn every last mosque into a parking lot.

I WOULD like to see us UFO about 2 million pigs into MECCA about 03:00 in the morning. With say a pile of corn around the black cube twice as high as the cube, right in the center of the 2 million pigs . . . perhaps with a few of them carrying a few timed tactical nukes?

Interesting that the President will be out of the country for at least 3 days next week.

I am beginning to think that they have been planning this for more than a few years. 9/11 was just the beginnig for these animals. They do not value human life. They just want to kill.

And thanks for yours. I still feel similarly.

And it seems to me that STILL too large a percentage of the Christian church is still asleep at the praying switch.

What is your gut instinct telling you about this one?

Threats coming in from many different sources all pointing to a November attack.

My guesses...

More freak weather at targeted cities. Seems to be a pattern forming. There was a bombing in Riyadh at midnight on Sunday the 9th, then a lunar eclipse visible in Mecca before dawn the next Monday morning. Then, torrential rains fell in Mecca all day Monday and Tuesday, resulting in flash floods to a depth of 20 feet. Then the freak thunderstorm here in L.A. last night, which resulted in not a drop on the San Fernando Valley west of Burbank. Just sat over the downtown area. Then the hurricane today in New Work. Washington, D.C. should put up their storm windows.

Looks like sunspot #486 is still active on the far side of the Sun. It comes back around on the 17th, I think. I'll guess for a major CME flare behind the solar eclipse on the 23rd....

What's the latest word on that Saudi-Canadian that made off with the spent nuclear fuel? I wonder if they think they have a dirty bomb ready to go?

ends around the 24th.. solar eclipse on 23rd barely fits in, but it makes it by a hair, and provides the 2 eclipse ramadan of prophecies...

That would be the sensible response.

And a sad part of me hopes it will be the response.

But I do NOT expect that response. I believe too many waffly folks have too much power. And/or the puppet masters would be too effective in neutering our response as long as we still had some umph to respond with.

Seems to me that loss of our blood-won freedoms is a victory for the Al Qaida. Loss of freedom would extend no increase in safety or security. Besides, trading freedom for security causes loss of both.

I don't agree with it -- but our technology could certainly help better prevent an attack if our rights were restricted -- I don't doubt that some changes will be made. Easier surveilance. Possibly identity chips. When people talk about our open borders much of that could be done away with if we make it utterly impossible for someone to live in this country without an implanted id. The same security that secures our data could be used to secure our people. I see that as a question of when it will happen -- not if.

It would only "help" prevent though. Eventually a virus will make its way into a population. i.e. If they landed on the beech with a nuke in their suitcase and avoided every checkpoint till they made it to their target. Not much an id would do to prevent it.

Yes we should. Too many people ignore it or don't understand it.

Supposedly one of the nukes is stashed somewhere along the Hudson River.

"Three nukes (originally from Russia) are supposed to be already in the United States and in position."

I think you are referring to that bogus "interview" with an Al Qaeda commander, published in Asia, that was later revealed to be a hoax.

Preemptive strike?

I wish that I knew what to do. I am not in charge though. In some strange way, I think that pre-emptive action is a very good idea.

It would likely make those who would assault us, think a bit more about the consequences of their actions. These Muslims, would respect our strength. As it is, they laugh at our silly and foolish platitudes. They do not take us seriously, and that is not logically, an unreasonable posture.

Yeah, lets Nuke em. Maybe France first, and then they (The Throwbacks)will believe that we are resolved, finally!

Or a NASCAR race,...

The last race of the year is in Homestead Florida this weekend. So they only have a couple days if it was that.
