Someone needs to get byrd outta there. He's got his Depends on, he doesn't care HOW long the debates go on. Hell, he doesn't even need to go to the bathroom.

Doin' just fine. Life is good - I'm still giddy with joy over the fact that we kicked our so-called governor, Doofus
Davis, to the curb! We did it - we dumped Davis!

are they really going to go for 30 hours?
Tough duty isn't it.... each Senator has to cover a 30 minute period during this duration..... Then they can sleep, call home, do office work, or whatever..... Yep really earning their money we the tax payers are sending their way....
But at least they aren't passing taxes or some other piece of legislation.... those hard workers.

I'm watching Rather for the first time in years and the thought just occured to me that the nightly news is pointless.
With the internet and 24 hour news channels, only morons wait until 6:30 at night to watch liberal propaganda "news"

My Lettor to the editor (I had to cut it down to less than 200 words or it will be cut for me:
Just in case anyone thought the Democrats have always supported the idea of holding up judicial nominees that one may deem "extreme" or "not qualified", I present the record. Seems their hypocrisy knows no end.
* Joseph Biden (D-DE) "everyone who is nominated is entitled to have a
vote on the floor."
* Carl Levin (D-MI) "If a bipartisan majority of the U.S. Senate is prepared to vote to confirm the President's appointment, that vote should occur."
* Edward Kennedy (D-MA) "If our
colleagues don't like them, vote against them. But give them a vote."
* Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) "Let's bring their nominations up, debate them if necessary, and vote them up or down."
* Tom Daschle (D-SD) "I find it simply baffling that a Senator would vote against even voting on a judicial nomination."
* Patrick Leahy (D-VT) "I have stated over and over again
that I would object and fight against any filibuster on a judge, whether it is somebody I opposed or supported."
* Joseph Lieberman (D-CT) The filibuster "has unfortunately become a commonplace tactic to thwart the will of the majority."

Senator Birdy is the Dems designated bore for the evening.
His specialty is to get everyone so numb that they'll flip the channel to watch Trading Places.
That way, the 'Rats figure the coherent Pubbie speakers won't have an audience.
Don't worry, when all the formaldehyde leaks out, Sen. Byrd will collapse and be carted off to his trundle bed for the duration.
