Not to be naive, but if Haley has more votes with the House still give it to Musgrove?

Oh yeah, he needs 66 electoral votes as well. If he doesn't get 66 and 50+ it goes to the dems in the legislature.

It refers to a no-win scenario where a Federation ship would try to handle a situation between two other ships where it would either fail to save the victim ship or it would engage the attacking ship and create an act of war.
At least I believe that's the gist.

Did you see on the Foxnews website today where Carl Cameron (or somebody) flat out stated that Mississippi had not elected a Republican Governor since 1967? You sure they weren't talking about Kentucky? Because 1967 was the last time Kentucky elected a Republican governor.
To: wardaddy
Well, I agree with every one of those, so you can chalk me up as "culturally paleo" too. And I'm not southern ;)

The shrill 9 Dwarves cannot be helping Musgrove any... Musgrove did at least have enough brains to keep the dwarves, Clinton and McAwful as far away from him as humanly possible. Still, there may well be some backsplatter - hard to avoid it when dealing with such a huge quantity of human feces.

Mississippi Governor
NOTE: If none of the candidates for Governor gets at least 50% of the vote, the person elected as Governor is that candidate who has won a majority of the 122 State House of Representatives districts; if no one has won either a majority of the popular vote OR a majority of the House districts, the Mississippi House of Representatives will choose the Governor.

I love your confidence. I hope this conservative swell swings southward to Louisiana in a mere week and Jindal is elected.
Conservatism won in Kentucky tonight as well. Can anyone report if that was an upset or an outcome to be expected?

Musgrove is cutting deeply into the Bush vote in Harrison County with about 80% of the precincts counted there. Based on that county alone, if the precincts counted are not disproportionately black, the race would be a tossup. But it appears that the swing away from Bush is far lower in some other places in the state. Is Musgrove from Harrison County per chance?

Same goes for you WD. Your description of your politics above pretty much fits me to a tee. Your description of your youth would be understating my own misspent youth.:-}
To: MississippiMan
Are you as confident as Wylene that this race is over?

To: Torie
The way it is phrased in news reporting is that the first consideration is 50% - get that and your in.
Next is the districts, if you did not get 50% but get the majority of those you are still in.
Get neither and it goes to the house...I THINK that's correct.

Thank you dear.

A majority of all state house seats, or US congressional seats? Either actually will probably be no sweat come to think of it, if Barbour gets an absolute majority of the vote.

I can tell you that that was the first Republican Gubernatorial win in Kentucky in 32 years. Yea.
