I'm a former Arkansan, too. The state is almost hopeless. The 3 Dem CDs aren't even competitive. The Dems just sleepwalk to re-election. In a good GOP year in 2002, no one stepped forward to run for AG-- it was just surrendered to the Dems. Run Mark Pryor for Gov and Fisher for Senate, and we would have lost both last year.

I guess that makes me feel better, I live in Alabama, so I could say this election has some impact on me, okay, who am I kidding...
The only thing important to me about beating Musgrove is so he couldn't appoint Senators in a resignation or tragedy or he would be weakened in a statewide run himself.

Ashcroft will have a hard time getting renominated. Rumsfield might, too, if he is invited back. Sorry, but what does this sentence mean?
To: votelife
Yes. MS and the rest of the deep south are much different in mentality from AR. They have "southern culture", while AR has "hillbilly culture", similar to West Virginia. AR is much whiter than the rest of the deep South, but also has a much poorer and less educated white populace. The only real wealth in the state is concentrated in a few neighborhoods in Little Rock and in the Northwest corner where Wal-Mart is headquartered. The rest of the state is pretty much a desolate wasteland of welfare and shoddy living conditions.
To: Kuksool
Yes, like I said Coverdell was the first (R) since Reconstruction to be re-elected. Mattingly was a fluke because of Talmadge.
