Well the only good part is that if we do ever sell, unless we are in a clamity of biblical proportions, it will fetch a multiple of the original price in 85.
The area is very gentrified..private jets lined up and that incredibly dangerous little strip at Banner Elk..I don't know how the locals afford it now. My aunt who is dessert chef for several local high end eateries is thinking about moving into Ashe county north of Boone.
I would like to keep it but one never knows.
Would I trade it for a few hundred acres(with hunting) with a nice camphouse on the Cumberland plateau within 2 hours of Nashville instead of the 5-6 we drive now...probably.
Remember the oral surgeon who crashed his plane a couple of years ago on old Beech Mt road?....that was right smack in my aunt's front "yard"

Ha! It says, "GOP Lobbyist Barbour Wins Governor's Race."

84% reporting
Haley Barbour (R) 404,466 53%
Ronnie Musgrove(D)inc 341,966 45%
It is long over.
I was SQUANTO.
I was over at DUmmies for the entire Dem debate until they caught up with me a few minutes ago.
I was bearding as a black, female, Sharpton supporter calling for Dean and McAuliffe to get out of the party.
The Deaniacs have got to be the closest thing we've had to Nazis in their furor that we've ever had in this country. They have gone completely around the bend and anyone who doesn't bow down and recognize his divinity is gang-flamed immediately.
This is so much fun!

Washington lobbyist Haley Barbour was leading in his bid to unseat Mississippi Democratic Gov. Ronnie Musgrove as the GOP sought to build on gains in the South.
Early Wednesday, Barbour declared himself the winner. But with 84 percent of precincts reporting, the race was still too close to call
AP
I don't see it.

See, you've made the mistake of thinking that the Clinton's actually give a da*m about the demoncrat party, or America for that matter.
Aa long as they can get elected, and keep making 100,000.00 per night getting on-screen TV time (at fundraisers that lose money) THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE.
If the entire demoncrat party looses evry gov position in the nation, but she gets to keepher Senate seat, and then SHE gets the dnc nomination for Pres, THEY DON'T CARE.
Heck, they even sent their "friends" to prison for lying to protect the Clinton's political ass*es.

I'm wondering why they said it was too close to call, unless they meant that they couldn't project that Barbour would get 50%. Otherwise, it was never close.

How utterly disgusting, but typical democrat.
Your thread is a total success. You have done a masterful job. Thanks so much.

FOX News just said "way too close to call and we may not know until early this morning" -- why the discrepancy??
