Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

(1010 WINS) (TRENTON) New Year's Eve revelers headed to New York were warned to expect long delays at the bridges and tunnels from New Jersey due to the intense watch for terrorist activity.

Every vehicle on those routes is subject to a random stop and search as part of the extraordinary security presence being put up by the state police, the National Guard, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and other law enforcement agencies, officials said.

"If you are a driver you should plan to be stopped by police and to have your vehicle searched," said Gov. James E. McGreevey.

The resulting traffic delays at the tunnels and on the bridges could reach over an hour as people try to crowd into New York for the traditional ceremonies of ringing in the new year, officials said.

"Drivers should allow much, much more time than normal," said Steve Coleman, port authority spokesman.

Steps taken as part of the upgraded nationwide terror alert also could mean additional delays for travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport and other airports in the state.

Security both inside and outside airport terminals is at high levels, and passengers should expect up to 90-minute delays on top of normal check-in procedures, Coleman said.

Heightened security measures have been in force around New Jersey since last week when Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge raised the terror warning threat level to orange.

The measures include more police at nuclear power plants, ports and train stations. Additional K-9 units and marine police will be on duty New Year's Eve, according to the state police.

State troopers also will be riding the rails to assist NJ Transit Police on trains going in and out of New York. The number of officers on the trains is increased every year on New Year's Eve, but there will be even more this time because of the terror alert, according to NJ Transit Police Chief Joseph Bober.

"You'll see us in full force," Bober said. Citing security concerns, he declined to give the exact number of officers assigned.

The random searches of vehicles at the tunnels and bridges were announced by McGreevey following a state homeland security meeting on Monday. The state's Emergency Operations Center also has been activated.

Cars and trucks stopped at the tunnels and bridges will be given a brief inspection by an officer or guardsman.

"All vehicles are fair game," said state police spokesman Steve Jones.

No vehicles will be allowed to park within 300 feet of any airport terminal, and the rule will be strictly enforced, Coleman said.

"We believe this is a necessary step given the environment we are in," Coleman said.

This reminds me of that threat that was contained in one of I think Daleel's messages.

Remember when he/they said something about the US govt having to acquiesce to some demand, but if the time passed and the demand was not met, then the countdown would begin, and there would be no turning back, something along those lines.
