[history]
Monday, November 3, 2003
A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Did you ever design a nuke?Nope, I've merely read all about how they're made. There's an amazing amount of stuff out there in open-source data these days. Suggested reading: Swords of Armaggedon, a CD-ROM history of the US nuclear weapons program by the late Chuck Hansen.

Thanks.
Evidently you are not reading as far as . . . or you are stuidiously avoiding by other question about responses.

"You see, the Americans just captured a "Saddam look-a-like." Then they were "taking him out of Iraq and making him go under 6 surgery's to his face which shows so clear in the pictures that were given out, in his eyes and in his cheeks and to his noose and the rest of the face!"
That is not what I read at the Yahoo site.

"Ya know bones, I got weary of DaDa too to the point of his affectionate nickname, but tubavil, who we barely see, said with determined affirmation- he is real."
==
Tubavil could just be kidding us too. Daleel could be just a red herring -- for us or for the jihadis. Maybe it's sort of a double or triple cross. Daleel is kidding us, we pretend to take him seriously, kidding him back, maybe some terrorists take Daleel seriously, or pretend to, and either kid Daleel or are kidding us too, planting propaganda/disinformation, instead of real info. Or maybe it's real info.
Somebody somewhere knows the truth -- I hope it's our side.

NOT another article about Daleel!!! LOL
Next thing we know, Daleel will get so conceited that he'll apply to take over Bin Laden's place. ;)

Katie Couric was the only one tough with Ridge when he made all his smiling appearances on most of the morning news. She point blank demanded to know if a nuke threat was involved. When Ridge did political double-speak, she hard pressed him well, Secretary are we being threatened with a nuclear attack, again changing the subject.

Some responses just don't require THAT much thought. (c8

UN Security Guard Found Dead What really bothered me about this is the UN announced the cause of death before an autopsy. I have not seen a follow up to this story.

the first time, Poohbah . . .
But, in the 'modern' world . . .
functionally, specifically . . . are you talking about nuking all the capitals and larger cities of all the Arab countries or what???
And would even that be remotely realistic given all the givens. Would even Bush have the stomach for it?
Calculate in the world . . . etc.
There's simple and there's complex and there's both all mixed together.

Like it or not, the NIN's and Debka's of the world were out in front of this Orange Alert, which is why I appreciate having them around, even if we sometimes have to debunk them (just like we have to do with every other media outlet).
Bump!

After a nuclear attack that killed millions of Americans, he'd have two choices:
(1) Massively overreact.
(2) Don't do (1), and be impeached, removed from office...and then be tried in the court of the Honorable Judge Lynch Mob.
Gosh, which one you think HE'D go for?
Calculate in the world . . . etc.
The rest of the world wouldn't say "boo" in that scenario. (Helpful Hint #1,331: When your next-door neighbor's house has just been firebombed, and he's expended a few hundred rounds into the likely culprits, don't say anything harsh or judgemental. He might still be peevish, and he might also have reloaded when you weren't looking. :o)

Point taken, but how do we know where he typed in Arabic?

Seems like you might be a good resource to give an opinion on the possible place an area such as Oak Ridge might hold on "the list." Would it be of interest?
Still trying to wrap my mind around scenarios (and how outcomes would change) if a suitcase was replaced by a container. Also, is it possible to dump additional muck (missing toxic chemicals (gasses), for instance) into a dirty device?
The thing that is really strange is seeing all those "edge of your seat" novels take on a reality of their own.
Oh, one more strange but strictly from the peanut gallery question. What is your take on the ability of a mini-nuke on a fault-line to set off an earthquake? If I wanted to go tinfoil I would ask about this afternoon's event (which seems a bit strange) since it shook both ends of California but occured in the middle.... but just don't have enough info to know if it is a totally off the wall question. Anyway, thanks for any insight and expertise you can add.
By the way, I'm totally in the "WITH us" side of the roster. Sometimes, just knowing and considering possibilities is a lot more calming than a "chill pill." Ultimately though, I leave it all up to God and am grateful He is hearing sincere prayers from many right now.
