A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.
The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?
The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.
Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.
DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.
Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

It's a different angle of this one:

The above seems to indicate that whatever plans they have are event driven, not time driven. If so, I wonder what the event is.Daleel needs to get drunk AND stupid enough to do something. That's the event.
Loudmouth poserboys posting on the Internet are not the threat. Mohammed Atta et al didn't brag on the Internet that they were going to do something.

IMHO Daleel is a waana-be and he is just doing his part, as a wimpy Jihadist, in trying to stir things up. I've seen a few pics of suitcase nukes in various FR posts and it looks to me like Daleel has added one to his threatening mosaic. Here is a blown up negative image run through some edge detection filters.

http://www.thejournalnews.com/newsroom/101101/11warumors.html Police: Student spoke of attacks before Sept. 11
By JEFFREY SCOTT SHAPIRO
THE JOURNAL NEWS
(Original publication: Oct. 11, 2001)
BROOKLYN Authorities are tracking numerous leads that some people, including members of the Arab-American community, heard rumors of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington in the days leading up to the hijackings, law enforcement sources say.
"There have been leads where someone has alleged to have heard someone else boasting about how the attack was going to happen before it happened," said Jim Margolin, a spokesman for the FBI in Manhattan.
In Brooklyn, a high school freshman who recently immigrated from Pakistan was investigated by federal agents after his teacher reported that he had predicted the Trade Center's collapse a week before the towers were attacked.
The student pointed out a third-story window of New Utrecht High School toward the Trade Center and said, "Do you see those two buildings? They won't be standing there next week," according to three police sources and a city official familiar with the investigation. They said the comment came in the midst of a heated political discussion the student was having with his teacher in an English class for Arab-American students.
New York City Board of Education spokeswoman Catie Marshall confirmed that school officials reported the matter to police within minutes of the Sept. 11 attack.
The boy's teacher, Antoinette DeLorenzo, declined to comment, but students said that FBI agents and NYPD detectives descended on the school on Sept. 13 to interrogate the student and others in his class.
Brooke Lillman, a 15-year-old sophomore, said that when the news of the attack began circulating in the school, DeLorenzo locked her classroom door, fearing her students could be attacked by their peers.
A veteran city police detective familiar with the case said investigators have been learning that many people in New York's Arab-American community had heard rumors about the Sept. 11 attacks before they occurred.
The officer said the story "had been out on the street," and the number of leads turning up was so "overwhelming" that it was difficult to tell who had heard about the attacks from second-hand sources and who had heard it from someone who may have been a participant.
For example, since Sept. 11, various leads have been investigated regarding Middle Eastern employees who may not have shown up for work at the World Trade Center that morning.
One detective conducting such investigations in Brooklyn said they had become "a serious and major priority."
According to a recent report on the Sept. 11 attacks issued by the British government, intelligence sources have found that Osama bin Laden himself made comments before Sept. 11 that "he was preparing a major attack on America," and warned many of his associates to return to Afghanistan by Sept. 10. The report further states that known associates of bin Laden were naming Sept. 11 as a date of action.
Federal agents who visited the New Utrecht school questioned the student and his older brother, who also attends there, the sources said. Afterward, the agents tried to question their father, who chastised them for harassing his children, they said.
Police sources said that, after the interviews, the boy's father left for Pakistan. After his departure, investigators conducted a second interview with the boy and his mother, who told them that her son was having psychological problems.
The boy and his brother have returned to school, but police said the FBI discussed keeping them under surveillance.
School officials closed the school on Sept. 12, but FBI agents and city police combed the building the following day. They searched the backpacks and lockers of various students with Middle Eastern backgrounds, and spent several hours interviewing them in a locked room.
"There were cops all over the building," said Julian Sulaj, a 17-year old senior at the school. "It was security to the max."
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee in Washington, D.C., said Brooklyn has the largest population of Arab-Americans in New York City.
According to a federal indictment against bin Laden, FBI agents have linked the former Alkifah Refugee Center on Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue to the Saudi fugitive-exile's terrorist network, al-Qaida.

Boy in Dallas suburb predicts start of WW III day before attacks
By R.G. RATCLIFFE
Copyright 2001 Houston Chronicle
The day before terrorists attacked New York and Washington, a fifth-grader in a Dallas suburb told his teacher World War III would begin the next day, school officials have told the FBI.
The boy was absent from school the day of the attacks, Sept. 11, and the following day, but has been at school since then, said Rhonda Lucich, a director of elementary education for the Garland Independent School District.
Lucich said the boy approached his teacher on the afternoon of Sept. 10 and casually told her:
"Tomorrow, World War III will begin. It will begin in the United States, and the United States will lose."
Lucich said the child's statements were passed along to the FBI. She said she did not know whether the agency had acted on the tip. An FBI spokesman could not be reached for comment.
Lucich said school officials are concerned, but not alarmed.
"It is one of those things I sincerely want to believe was coincidental," Lucich said.
Lucich declined to name the elementary school involved. She said she was told about the boy's comment by his teacher and the school's principal two days after the Sept. 11 attacks.
She said the boy is multiracial but that she does not believe his ethnicity includes a Middle Eastern background.
U.S. officials believe Middle Eastern terrorists linked to Saudi Arabian exile Osama bin Laden are responsible for last week's attacks on the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon.
Garland is a northern suburb of Dallas. Two charities in the neighboring suburb of Richardson have been investigated in the past for possible ties to Palestinian terrorist organizations.
The Global Relief Foundation Inc. and the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, both based in Richardson, have been investigated on allegations they raised money for Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist organization. Both organizations have denied such activity.

Lots of rumors.
No arrests.
Gosh, maybe there wasn't anything to them.

FWIW, I'm in your area, commuters distance.
As of yesterday, through my routine of errands, all Muslims I see normally, shop owners and such, are still where they should be. None have left.

"I'm sitting in my office on the 26th floor of a high rise in Midtown Manhattan while my family is at home. Forgive me for being paranoid rather than cavalier about the threats"We all pray for you and your family and everyone else in New York. New York City is my place of birth and I have a special place in my heart for it. I think during this time we should all come together and pray that our law enforcement and intelligence community can stop whatever these guys are trying to do, where ever that might be.
Would they actually be stupid enough to try and run the gauntlet of NY on high alert? I've heard this is now one of the best protected cities in the country.
There are many people on these threads that bring out the tinfoil and showers when we speak about these threats, but no one is immune at this point so we all need to be vigilent. Millions of eyes watching and helping law enforcement may just be a way to stop them!! We must never forget what they did on 9-11 and never let it happen again!!!!

I keep thinking Midnight Masses. Do the Muslims hold more hatred for Catholics over Protestants or do they hate them equally? I'm pretty sure they're equal opportunity haters, oceanperch...

Don't know if you know, but Jeff Shapiro is a former tabloid reporter and practitioner of dirty journalist tricks who can't get a job with any respectable news outlet. He has been blacklisted for at least 5 years. I would take anything he reports with a bucketful of salt. He and Jason Blair are twins separated at birth.

Besides, Midnight Masses just aren't as crowded as they were in the old days. The small number of casualties wouldn't be worth it.
If the target is NYC, I'm guessing Empire State Building or the Holland Tunnel. Maybe a bridge, but there again, they'd have to hit all the East River bridges AND the tunnels simultaneously to do any huge damage and to cut off Manhattan.
NY Stock Exchange might be another. It is a symbol of American wealth.

Kind of what I was suspecting.
However, there are plenty of dunces around who should be more alert and careful in their jobs.
Maybe those of us who tend to be paranoids will make up for them? LOL.
What do you think we as a nation, as officials, as security personnel, as citizens . . . should be doing differently?
I noticed in one of the Al Qaeda rants today some phrasing that asserted that, as I read it, they essentially have moles at pretty high levels. Personally, I think all Moslems and anyone fitting a fairly broad hazardous profile should be removed from anything having anything to do with security for the President or any other thing except maybe counterfeiting. Forget the noise about profiling.
It seems to me a lot of us on FR and maybe on this thread could come up with some creative ideas for increasing security that perhaps no one else had thought of. I'm continually impressed with the minds and expertise of FREEPERS. Any ideas anyone?

UFOs and The National Security State: Chronology of a Cover-up 1941-1973
by
Richard M Dolan
Author bio:
Richard M Dolan is a gifted historian whose study of a U.S. Cold War strategy led him to the broader context of increased security measures and secrecy since World War II. One aspect of such government policies that has continued to hold the public's imagination for more than half a century is the question of unidentified flying objects.
He studied at Alfred University and Oxford University before completing his graduate work in history at the University of Rochester, where he was a finalist for a Rhodes scholarship. Prior to his interest in UFOs Dolan studied U.S. Cold War strategy, Soviet history and culture and international diplomacy. He lives in Rochester, NY, where he is at work on volume two of his study.
One Reviewer:
"This book represents a milestone in the field of UFO research. With uncommon discipline, precision and balance, Dolan integrates 30 years of eyewitness reports, both public and classified military-intelligence studies thereof, and surrounding relevant developments in world affairs and science into a single coherent chronology. The result is breathtaking, as it peels away the cover of official secrecy surrounding the most important events of the 20th century. UFOs and the National Security State is one of the most important books to be published in the past 100 years." --Joe Firmage, chairman Motion Sciences Organization
When I scanned it after receiving it, I was disappointed and not sure I'd even read it. It looked very dry and academic and mostly a rehash of plenty I'd alread read tons on.
QUAKE NEWS . . . INTERESTING location and timing . . .
Anyway--I've gotten into parts of the book and am impressed with his scholarship and access. Even you, Poohbah, MIGHT find it worth your time.
If you care to respond about that, please do it in the following thread:
