Video shows a man unloading a revolver at his lawyer, as the lawyer dodges the shots by hiding behind a tree. The shooter then calmly walks away, and is tackled by an off-duty sheriff's deputy.

They say the perp had two guns, looks like 8 shots fired, lawyer was hit multiple times...is alive and in the hospital. That's the weirdest thing i've ever seen. It's amazing that the shooter missed so many times. They don't know why if he had two guns, he stopped shooting. Also, it was mentioned that he had .22 caliber pistol.

Why would anyone want to shoot a lawyer? They are among America's most respected people, behind pornographers and carjackers.

The best part was the shooter just started walking away like nothing happened.

Actually, it was filming of a new reality show, "Who Wants to Shoot a Lawyer?" There were hundreds of contestants lined-up off camera...

I guess this guy can't use the excuse that he couldn't have done it because he left his gun in the restaurant. Also, I bet this guy has real trouble finding a good lawyer now. Whoever gets stuck defending this guy will probably work with the prosecution to make sure this guy gets the maximum sentence possible.

The police are out of line here. They have no right to interfere in attorney-client relationships.

Attorney Gunned Down Outside L.A. Courthouse

An attorney was gunned down Friday on a public walkway outside the Van Nuys courthouse in California as television crews gathered to cover a hearing for Robert Blake.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Jerry Curry. He was shot multiple times in the upper torso, but was conscious as paramedics transported him to a hospital. He remains in stable condition. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Los Angeles Police spokesman James Chong says the shooter was a client of the victim.

Television footage of the shooting showed the attorney trying to duck shots from behind a tree as the shooter, an older man with graying hair and glasses, pointed a revolver at him and fired multiple times.

The attorney took a few steps after being shot then collapsed as the suspect walked calmly from the scene. Police said the shooter was tackled by an off-duty sheriff reserve officer and restrained by several officers and at least one cameraman.

Police said the suspect, identified only as "Striler," was found to have two revolvers on him when he was taken into custody. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Inside the courthouse, a hearing was under way in the murder case against actor Robert Blake. The shooting incident apparently was unrelated. Upon getting word of the shooting, officials promptly locked down the courthouse.

The video is just jaw dropping. One second a guy is dodging bullets, the next both shooter and victim are just walking away.

And you've gotta love the guy in the background who walks from behind a building, sees what's going on, backs up, and finally just decides to keep going.

a better title would be "lawyer shot outside court room"

It may be a trend known henceforth as "going Courtroom"

After the hooker and briefcase lawyer ignore the shooting, look at the left side of the screen in the very background. You can see two cops standing and watching, not responding, to the sound of the gunshots. One finally leaps into action after the shot lawyer walks onto the side walk.
The shooter seems too crazy to be really committed to killing the lawyer.

What's so bizarre is that the shooter was literally inches away from his victim. And that tree ain't exactly a California redwood!

The lawyer really kept his cool or just reacted instinctively.......playing dodge-'em till the perp stopped firing or maybe ran out of bullets.

Another look at the tape leads me to believe that when the photog was trailing the shooter who was walking away, the perp turned around and looked at him. It appeared to me that he then made a move toward his pocket, perhaps to shoot the camera guy. Watch for it. See what you think.

Then, like the cavalry, out of nowhere comes the heroic off-duty officer who makes that flying neck-hold and bring-down of the old dude in the twinkling of an eye.

Wow, I was so gobsmacked that it was hard to concentrate on any of my housework for a while.
