OSAMA bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror network is planning a "death blow" against Americans during the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, a Saudi magazine reports in its issue due out today.
"Al-Qaeda is going to carry out a death blow against Americans during the month of Ramadan," Al-Majallah said, quoting an e-mail sent by Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, identified as a senior member of al-Qaeda.
Ablaj, who regularly communicates with the London-based weekly via e-mail, did not specify if the threatened strike will be carried out in the United States or against American interests abroad.
"Muslims have the right to draw the blood of Americans, civilian or military, everywhere in the world," Ablaj said.
He did not dismiss the possibility of a "painful" strike in Iraq, which is currently under a US-led occupation following the overthrow of dictator Saddam Hussein.
"Bin Laden has ordered his supporters to carry out a guerrilla war against Arab and Muslim countries where there is an American military and commercial presence," Ablaj said.
"The guerrilla war decided by bin Laden and his assistants won't be limited to martyr (suicide) operations mentioned in his last two messages. This (war) will be carried out by other means and (using) different types of weapons," he added.
In a message purported to be from bin Laden and aired on October 18 by Qatar's Al-Jazeera television station, the terror chief threatened to send suicide bombers to the United States and attack any forces joining the US-led coalition in Iraq.

Nobody is advocating worrying about it, or being frightened by it. So far we have done a tremendous job of preventing and foiling the attacks, and hope we continue to do so.
But that doesn't mean that AQ isn't planning some very devastating attacks, and we can't relax in our WOT, that was my point. If we let down our guard, all it takes is for one attack to get through to cause death and devastation, not to mention killing the economy.

"What about the first Trade Center bombing?"
Right, 1993. That's why I said between 1993 and 2001.

"Bottom line: the US military has the power under the law of war and the US Constitution to try, convict and execute any citizens of Iran, Syria, Yemin, Saudi Arabia, etc., who are involved in the attacks on our soldiers in Iraq. And we SHOULD do this, to send a very clear message to all those nations about their terrorists leaking into Iraq. If they get to Iraq and get involved in the attacks, with the weapons, explosives, maps and orders, they should be SHOT."
I agree! But, you left out citizens of Iraq. And by the way, what the hell is our military leadership giving command leadership at the front lines any crap about aggressively interrorgating an Iraqi about info he has about a planned attack on our troops!
As far as I'm concerned, that piece of garbage should have been shot right after he finally gave up the info. F*%king Washington, DC is going down the tubes with all the PC s#%t!
Let's get it right. These are our enemies and you don't coddle them. You kill them!

The last time he was bragging about attacks to this Saudi magazine, we got bombings in Riyadh, Casablanca, and Chechnya. I think we have to take this warning seriously.

"Al-Qaeda planning US 'death blow'"
Bluster and bullsh*t.
If they had the means to launch an attack like this, they would have done so already.

I understand...I'm just saying that some people who seem unconcerned are not necessarily unaware or apathetic.

Here's an idea -
"President Bush must first hold a public war trial in the United States, charging all terrorists, either by name or as John and Jane Doe, as being evil and condemning them to death. The terrorists, after all, condemned to death without a trial over 6.000 Americans in the Twin Towers terrorist attack."
"President Bush must tell any country harboring and protecting the terrorists that they are condemned to death and the U.S. demands their immediate extradition to carry out the death sentence. "
"Bush must tell any harboring country that if it refuses to turn over the terrorists it is collaterally guilty with the terrorists, and the United States will immediately drop the neutron bomb on it until it no longer exists as a nation."
"The United States will drop the neutron bomb on all nations that harbor terrorists. It is far cheaper and will cost far fewer lives of American troops than a ground war. Not one American soldier would be killed. The harboring country would be bombed as Japan was bombed. If Iraq or another terrorist-supporting country was bombed, the other harboring countries would get the message and oust all terrorists, leaving them nowhere to go. They would be turned over to the U.S. for carrying out the death sentence or cease to operate. Even if not turned over, they would have no home base to gather and plan future attacks, so they would be out of business. The Lucom Plan is the most competent, efficient way to end terrorism in a short time wherever it exists. "

Not that amazing considering that there were not attacks in the US between 1993 and 2001. Not so sure about that. There was the assassination of CIA agents near Langley, some substantial (and as yet unrefuted) evidence of Islamic complicity in the Murrow Federal Building bombing, The EgyptAir pilot that intentionally augered his plane into the ocean off the coast of the US, and a not so slight amount of evidence that TWA800 might have been a terrorist attack. There were also a great deal of Islamic terrorist activity against )US interests" off shore during that time period.

I have plenty of faith that our boys will carry out whatever is asked of them, but they have no decision-making power in such a thing. And I must differ on GWB: I think we could get hit with a dirty bomb or bioterror attack stateside and he wouldn't nuke anyone in response.

You seem to confuse the actual active current group of terrorists with the "sea" in which they swim. The terrorists could not exist without a large amount of support, both active and tacit opinion in the Muslim world. And then there's a percentage of Muslims that don't believe in terrorism but are only a stone's throw away from being blinded by enough hate to condone such acts.
Even if the total is only 5-10 percent of the Muslim world(and I feel it's higher) you're dealing with MILLIONS.
You don't nuke the entire Muslim world, but you pick a few targets--Syria, border regions of Pakistan, Saudi, Iran and then launch.

We don't have the balls to do it. I agree with you, but "respected" "mainstream" people in Washington don't think that way. We think 21st century, enemies think 18th century. Bad news for us IMO.
