OSAMA bin Laden's al-Qaeda terror network is planning a "death blow" against Americans during the holy Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, a Saudi magazine reports in its issue due out today.
"Al-Qaeda is going to carry out a death blow against Americans during the month of Ramadan," Al-Majallah said, quoting an e-mail sent by Abu Mohammed al-Ablaj, identified as a senior member of al-Qaeda.
Ablaj, who regularly communicates with the London-based weekly via e-mail, did not specify if the threatened strike will be carried out in the United States or against American interests abroad.
"Muslims have the right to draw the blood of Americans, civilian or military, everywhere in the world," Ablaj said.
He did not dismiss the possibility of a "painful" strike in Iraq, which is currently under a US-led occupation following the overthrow of dictator Saddam Hussein.
"Bin Laden has ordered his supporters to carry out a guerrilla war against Arab and Muslim countries where there is an American military and commercial presence," Ablaj said.
"The guerrilla war decided by bin Laden and his assistants won't be limited to martyr (suicide) operations mentioned in his last two messages. This (war) will be carried out by other means and (using) different types of weapons," he added.
In a message purported to be from bin Laden and aired on October 18 by Qatar's Al-Jazeera television station, the terror chief threatened to send suicide bombers to the United States and attack any forces joining the US-led coalition in Iraq.
I think it's real too. It is possible that they are now communicating exclusively through couriers and the chances are that we're just not picking up any intelligence/chatter on any new plots they may be cooking up. It will probably be another surprise sneak attack just like September 11.
Death blow, huh?
Well, Abdul, you just bring it on.
Better make that first shot count, though. The last outfit that tried knocking us out with one punch was Imperial Japan. Ask them what happened.
The only reason your culture still exists is that the people of the United States dont consider it a threat to our survival as a nation. Youd better pray we never do. When Uncle Sam goes all cold in the eyes, and theres just no telling what he might do.
B-chan
All this "politically correct" garbage goes up in smoke if there is another 9/11 type attack. All of this "religion of peace" stuff being spewed by Bush and others is for public consumption. Privately, they are loaded for bear should another attack occur. We've had over two years to prepare for such a devastating response. Unlike in the aftermath of 9/11, we know where all the targets are. And the targets know that we know where they are.
BTW, I'll go out on a limb here and say that if Algore was president, even he would have such a plan in place, ready to go. Maybe Algore never would have gone into Iraq, hell, we KNOW he wouldn't have gone into Iraq, but you better believe he would have the military ready to act immediately in the case of another 9/11 attack. That said, I'm glad Bush is the president because we now have fewer targets to go after than had Algore been in office.
This is a case of the survival of western civilization. The attacks of 9/11 had very damaging impact on our economy. The airline industry was almost wiped out. In fact, had the terrorists followed up with some raft-launched SAM attacks against commercial airliners off the eastern and western seaboards in the months afterwards, you wouldn't be able to get anybody on a plane again for quite some time.
Look at the enormous costs our economy had to absorb just to ramp up security. My company spent millions of dollars improving security and putting safeguards in place to protect their employees in the aftermath of 9/11. Our field technicians now have 10-15 minutes added to each service call as they must navigate the intricate security measures of the companies they must visit. All of this time costs money and profit margins are negatively impacted.
Another attack could have dire long-term economic impact. What would our economy do if people were afraid to travel, go to the cities, go the the ballgames, etc.?
We cannot afford to live under the threat of terrorist attacks. We will do what we must do to ensure that they do not happen. Even if it requires a spectacular nuclear strike. It's either that, or our way of life will perish.
The scare a mass exodus of Westerners, especially Americans, would put in the hearts of the terror masters sure be fun to watch. You know the UN would be meeting 24/7 knowing what was comming and there wouldn't be a damn thing they could do about it.
We're still talking millions
200 years from now, I want their children's children's children's children
to cower and cringe in fear whenever they hear the sounds of jet engines overhead
because their legends tell of fire from the sky.
I want them to hide in dark caves and holes in the earth,
shivering with terror whenever they hear the roar of diesel engines
because the tales of their ancestors talk about metal monsters
crawling over the earth, spitting death and destruction.
I want their mothers to be able to admonish them with
"If you don't behave, the Pale Destroyers will come for you",
and that will be enough to reduce them to quivering obesience.
I want the annihilation to be so complete that their mythology
will tell them of the day of judgment when the stern gods from across the sea
.. the powerful 'Mericans .. destroyed their forefathers' wickedness.

Snork! Snork! Whaaa?
Oh, al-Qaeda's gonna kill us all again. 's cool. Gimme the notepad.
Note to self: buy more hollow-points.
Great. Hit the light, willya?
Do you think we don't know who did it?
Even Clinton knew who did it and who continues to do it.
And who is relentlessly being neutralized.
There's is ONE thing that America could do that would put the "fear of Allah" in the eyes of every would-be terrorist - and I'm sure it's something we would/will do as times get tougher.
It's called "growing a backbone".
Nor do I. I don't believe we would sit back and do nothing, not as long as George Bush is in the White House. I did not mean to imply that we would sit on our hands. But we are not going to nuke the Middle East because there is too much pressure from socialist elements throughout the world. A Freeper noted in this thread that it would take hundreds of thousands of deaths before a counter-attack of this magnitude would take place or be justified. Just think, if we nuked several targets throughout the Middle East, the French and other like-minded countries might make it their duty to respond with an attack on the United States, all in defense of their Muslim friends. They might also see this as their window of opportunity to rise and be the most influential power in the world. I have little doubt that Socialism throughout the world wants the United States to go away, and they might take that opportunity while our attention is turned on other matters.
A 9/11 style attack would probably result in more military personnel be dispached to Afghanistan and Pakistan to look for the remainder of the AQ leaders. Military operations would take place in countries where terrorst activites are supported. Our scope would be widened to include countries like Syria, Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
My question for those who believe we WILL send the nukes after another 9/11 is this -- What are we going to do about the AQ and other Muslim terrorists living on our own soil? Muslims in England? France? East Asia? If nukes were to hit the middle east, it is possible and maybe even probable that terrorist attacks would be initiated from those working inside our borders and other places around the world.
Islam is a virus, and it is spreading.
It never ceases to amaze me how the stupidest losers can continue pumping harder on the same idiotic, failed policies long after anyone with a grain of intelligence would have realized it's a no-win proposition.
Ah, but they have "faith in Allah" -- who, judging by events since September 11, obviously far prefers "infidels" who respect all points of view and are fair to the whole world (i.e., the USA) over evil, asshole "Muslims" who slaughter innocent children in the name of God.
Yep. That's him, and he should be hailed as a hero. Not condemned as a criminal.
Yes, unlike bin Laden and a some other misguided individuals, Bush does not want to turn the war on terrorism into a war on an entire religion.
Thank God Bush is in charge.
