A woman with a Halloween costume that included a faux gun? Must be a conservative woman dressing up like Rosie O or some other celebrity-gun-packin' hypocrite.

LOL!
So if 10 bad guys buy swat gear and move in on a government building do you think they could get in?
I believe this ploy would work. What guard is going to stop these guys if a so call emergence it fabricated and the swat team moves in on a target building or another building during an so called emergence.
To: per loin
Sheesh. I could see that.
Everyone with illegal weapons line up in aisle 1, classified docs in aisle 2, WMD in aisle 3, illegal drugs in aisle 4. All others with contraband not included in this list, line up in aisle 5. It may be a few minutes till we get to you. That is all.
To: Mo1
I doubt anyone would bring a toy gun into any DC building these days. It just doesn't happen.

Staffers........
Seems they put their backpacks on the scanner. The guard was not paying any attention. They innocenly went on their way. Only after they have moved on did the guard take a look at the screen and notice the gun. Panic ensued!!!
The guard ought to be fired IMMEDIATELY......and the staffers really did nothing wrong....unless they're dems who vote FOR zero tolerance gun control laws.

It takes time to clean up sleeper-cells, especially when you have to give lip service to the "religion of peace."
They are all damned and they will lose.

Here's a pretty good summary of the story so far:
Halloween Eve hoax leads to Cannon lockdown, House recess
By Mary Lynn F. Jones
A man playing a Halloween trick and carrying a plastic revolver swept past security in the Cannon House Office building today, causing the building to be locked down and the House to go into recess.
The man and a female companion are now in police custody. According to police reports, the man is white, in his early 20s, and is approximately 5-feet, 2-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds. He was wearing black pants and a black jacket and was carrying a black and gray backpack, which contained the plastic weapon.
A white female, also in her 20s, is approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall with brown shoulder-length hair. She was wearing a pink shirt, khaki pants, sunglasses and carrying a maroon bag.
The police had launched an extensive, office-by-office search of the Cannon building, closed tunnels leading to other Capitol buildings and stationed officers at all entrances.
Rep. Bob Ney's (R-Ohio) office said the man put his backpack through an X-ray machine. The officer noticed that the backpack was suspicious, but the man grabbed it and then ran off.
Capitol Hill security was increased both after the 1998 shootings, in which two Capitol Police officers were killed in the line of duty, and after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
