I find it awfully discouraging that the articles I posted that were hosted by stevequayle.com, which originated from viable news and various other sources, were pulled and that the only reason given for their exclusion was that, and I quote, "I don't think we want stevequayle.com here".

The Chicago Tribune is a very respected newspaper in the Chicagoland area, and I know for a fact that the majority of the editors on the board are conservative/moderate Republicans.
I know that many people here disagree with the Tribune over the posting lawsuit, but the people who work for the Tribune are decent people. And that is hard to find in the world of journalism.

After reading your posts, I can't believe you are serious.

They seem nice and probably mean well.
I think they are trying too hard to come up with articles to post.
I sent a nice mail message suggesting they read and respond in threads for a while and figure FR out, then perhaps later post all the articles they want.
Nice of you to help them as well by the way.

Oak Hay, Oak Hay, just because you are such a staunch Non-Believer, I will reveal a few carefully concealed truths . . . providing that you Swear never to reveal them until your dying day!!! Do you hereby so Swear??? Oak Hay !!!
I was born on a small planet at the edge of one of the distant red-shifted galaxies, and arrived in Roswell, New Mexico a few years before my relatives made a somewhat noisier landing out in the nearby desert. In a successful effort to avoid the Men In Black, my family an I spent the next several years moving around the country at frequent intervals, during which time I attended 27 different schools, including Northpint Muddle Skool, before ending up at GMITT.
After 7 pleasant years in Area 51, followed by 30 more years in the Center of the Universe, I now live in northern Cydonia with my six wives, thirty-seven children, one small, noisy, long-haired Mexican Chihuahua named Sam (short for Samson), 195 of Lenny Dee's marvelous '50s & '60s organ songs, nine aging Macs, one very stubborn Aurora Bory Alice, and an awesomely cool Powerbook G-666, all of which are linked together through an AppleCore No-Talk Network that sporadically communicates with two miserable Microsoft Windows-95 machines of dubious origin, and one Dell Black Beauty running on Ex-Pee !!!
Now . . . if you dare to reveal any of these carefully concealed truths I will be forced to allign my Cold Fusion Power Packed fully armed and mobilized wheelchair in conformance with your sorry lying ass and *POOF* . . . Valentine's Day will henceforth occur in November !!! ;-))

I believe the Slimes owns the Chicago Trib. I think it's vice versa, the Trib owning the Slimes (and the Baltimore RedSun). And the ComPost owns Newsweek.

Thanks. I made the correction back in my post # 197. It's becoming difficult and almost impossible to discern the various players in the increasingly monopolistic media empires.

The Chicago Tribune is a very respected newspaper in the Chicagoland area, and I know for a fact that the majority of the editors on the board are conservative/moderate Republicans. As a Chicago native, born about 6 blocks from Tribune Tower and currently residing in the NW burbs, I am well aware of how the Tribune is perceived. It WAS once considered a staunchly Republican publication. However, the editorial board has taken a sharp turn left over the past decade. The Sunday "Perspective" section regularly pushes a radical leftist view of world events.
How long has it been since you've actually read the Tribune. Can you actually name a single member of the Trib's editorial board who would qualify as a conservative? The only op-ed writer who comes close is Dennis byrne, and he is not a member of the board. Board chariman Wycliff is a left-leaning, milquetoast moderate at best.

I don't believe the Colonel would not fire almost every employee of the Trib concerned with reporting or editorializing. Even its comic pages are filled with Commie crap. I stopped buying it years ago.

My comment above is my personal opinion from personal experiences. I am not going to name names, only that from my personal experience, the Tribune editorial board is moderate to conservative Republican. I grew up in the Northshore Chicagoland area and now reside in Virginia, and I only moved to Virginia two months ago.
You are correct in stating that not all of the editors for the Tribune are conservative, because they aren't. Sure, every once in a while one of the liberal editors will write a liberal op-ed, but that certainly does not make the Tribune editorial board overwhelmingly liberal, because it isn't.

You should use Mozilla as your browser. It has very good custom controls over the font sizes of displayed text.
Its free, get it here : http://www.mozilla.org/

Thanks... I'm futzing with Mozilla right now, but I don't really think it's necessary because IE - View - Text Size - Largest works just fine. The equivalent on Mozilla is Text Zoom 200%... but then I need to do left-right screen shifts as well. But I'll fiddle with it some more... maybe I'll finally like it!!!
