ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST -- A man was arrested Tuesday after deputies caught him setting a fire in a steep, remote canyon filled with dry brush and large trees in the Angeles National Forest, according to sheriff detectives.
Hikers in a remote trail about a half-mile north of the Eaton Canyon Bridge in Altadena saw a man making a fire there and alerted authorities, sheriff's Detective Ed Nordskog said.
Los Angeles County Parks officials and deputies arrived about 10 a.m. as the man was standing next to a fire about four feet in diameter. He warned the deputies to stay away and not extinguish the blaze, Nordskog said.
The man, identified as Dikran Armouchian, 23, of Pasadena,

Actually, the anthrax attacks did include what you call "nice threatening notes," and to all appearances the sentiments expressed were Islamic.

And your evidence for your "suspicion" beyond the fact you don't like the ethnicity and associated relgion of the name is what, exactly? First off, that's a prejudgement on your part to form my opinion for me.
Second, what's the religion got to do with it? I didn't know the guy's religion was even reported. I'm thinking more "communist"
Third, the name Armouchian is so rare in the US, it only shows 4 people, 3 of which are in the same town. 2 of which are spelled differently by one letter. If you don't think it's worhh investigating, then you are being nieve.

There are worse crimes than just yelling fire in a crowded theater...Yep. Yasser Arrafat got his big break STARTING fires in crowded theaters. And look what happened to him!
no wait...

Think about 9-11... the architecture of the twin towers were uniquely suited for collapse because of the metal truss system between each floor. Do you think it is possible that a terrorist with a background knew this??? We also had a prelude to using planes as missiles in the late 90's... and they also tried to take one of the towers in '93 And OBL was trained as a civil engineer. He had copies of plans for the buildings, knew it's weaknesses, and it's symbolic significance.
Asbestos was banned half way through construction, enhancing the vulnerability...

Ramzi Yousef chose a spot to lay the bomb in the attempt on the WTC in '93 that was structurally important and could have brought the building down. That according to Richard Miniter's Losing Bin Laden, which I am currently reading.

Ayeyup. We're not dealing with stupid people. Evil? Certainly. Insane? Probably. Stupid? No, unfortunately...

I was able to find one Armouchian in the California criminal system. He's from Los Angeles county, but his name is Raffi and he was born in 1977.

Hmm, if one were an AQ supporter wouldn't they be proudly talking about how AQ is starting every wildfire, train derailment, and industrial fire in the US, not doing the opposite? How would it serve AQ to have people running around trying to cover up their terror campaign so people think whatever they do is an accident or a lone nut? Maybe that's why all the finger pointing at islamic terrorists with nothing more than hypotheticals bothers me so. To the islamic terrorists, these people are simply cheerleaders/advertisers for their cause.

hotpotato is overstressed? That's why he's posting flip comments about future mudslides on a board until 1:24 a.m. and is back 6 hours and 22 minutes later at 7:46 a.m.? Looks like he's pretty broken up. You obviously aren't in California watching and waiting and hoping like hell this thing doesn't eat you and yours alive. Sleep is a luxury for people who have no anxiety or fear. Your cheap shots are just that and nothing more.

That reminds me. I wonder if one of those "Ionic Breeze" air cleaners would keep the smoke from getting too bad in those situations. I have the cheap Radio Shack model and it works really good, but it doesn't clean at the volume I expected.

I wondered the same thing. I've remained in the house most of the time with all windows and doors closed (we have a really good AC filter). I'm still having a hard time breathing as this is really wrecking havoc with my respiratory system.

Possession of Marijuana for Sale. Possession of marijuana in amounts or undercircumstances suggesting that it is intended for sale is a felony. (Health and SafetyCode Section 11359)
...meaningless in this case. I was looking for tax evasion. I guess that settles my suspicions.
