Thanks for reminding folks in SoCal and north to Las Vegas it looks like -- AAA has been issuing alerts all afternoon about getting the ash off your cars because it is corrosive. Actually it is a good warning for anyone in the Country around fires. Get your car cleaned off ASAP after encountering ash.

Not a hair out of place on Gray Davis's carefully coiffed head. The timely plaid shirt kinda gets me, though.

And he just calmly says he'll be out of service when he lands.
Does Jockey even make a pair of shorts big enuf for this guy who stays so calm in the face of a heavy plane with "NO RUDDER". I worked for Jockey years and years and years ago, and I don't think they do...
Please give an update on this pilot if you can.

That makes sense. Never would have thought of it, though.

They were saying if Crestline went, Arrowhead would, and THEN there was no stopping it. But the fire kind of went around the long way -- and is now almost doubling back to hit Crestline, isn't it?

Drudge has a red headline that there was an earthquake near the (SB?) fire - anybody know about it?

They reported last night that Arrowhead and Crestline were both out of danger.
This morning I heard that some of the backfires they set had backfired on the firefighters when the wind picked up. Now saying there are heavy gust of winds in the Arrowhead area.

I don't know, perhaps. We must protect this place, first, at all costs, imo. If not for Free Republic, folks like me would have zero knowledge of this event, not to mention many others.
I suspect many have already donated, I have, to several organizations in that region this week. Things like this just tear your heart out.
