AV local scanner= units on their way to lancaster from long beach?? discussion of the state of the 14 (unkind at this hour), and "be advised there is heavy smoke in the antelope valley due to fires down below"
maybe they're parking some air units? no then the 14 wouldn't be in play.
No idea on that one.

LOL! I know there are plenty of normal folks and one mutant troll in Illinois. ;-) I forgot to mention tornados in my rant and forgot floods also. And we can use prayer. We could also use a nice big rainstorm. Our small mountain towns are utterly destroyed. I am crying over Julian tonight.

The California liberals of the Wilderness Society chose today to try to cash in on the catastrophe before our eyes.
The form letter they are pushing is very revealing.

CL-415 super scooper are being leased from Canada. After all this time why doesn't California or our American Government have 25 of these plane in stock?
Just a thought....

thanks to all for the prayers...just had a major drop in power. Mr. C4E suggested a change in power grid..if so they didn't do it very gracefully...heh heh...[whistling past the graveyard time]

The one question I have about Chuck Henry's brush with doom is did his hair melt?
finally got a break here to post,
lots of grim faces at the fire house today. Some of the FFs I work with have lost homes now or they're watching them burn on TV. Lake Arrowhead area epecially.
I heard Chuck lost his media van

I thought it was just south of you but wasn't sure. All these fires starting is causing my tin foil hat to be put on right now.
Tomorrow the winds are expected to be 25 mph tomorrow in the mountains. SB Fire Chief is concerned about all of the area in the mountains. Sounds like it is out of control up in the mountains -- even put Crestline in possible trouble now all the way over to Big Bear!

Guess I should have said east of you. For some reason I always considered Calimesa, Beaumont and Banning south of Yucaipa.
