Roger Hedgecock reading email from Air Natl Guard pilot posted in Orange county. Says they have a number of Blackhawks and they have been cross training with CDF.
Problems - a bit of animosity between them and civilian pilots. Says one time, "Here comes the enemy" was heard over the radio - meaning mil. pilots. Civ pilots - They get paid for the fires - incentive is to work more and drag out the fire. ANG guy says We will sit idly by while the fires are out of control. CDF-They are in bed with the civ. operators. Civ operators charge lots of $$$ for their services.
Telling Roger to investigate this.
Saying he thinks about this fire, no number of assetts probably could have averted this damage this time because of winds, dark etc.

looked like they were unchanged from the '50's We had a cabin on North Peak, up above Cuyamaca Lake in the fifties. I drove through a few months ago, it looked pretty much the same as I remembered it.
It may be an appropriate time for a warning that the guys who are reporting this stuff are from the same tribe as the guys who are giving us the "quagmire" reports. The sensational always takes precedent over the factual with them. I'm listening directly to the guys on the scene at Cuyamaca who are reporting losing a considerable number of homes along Engineer Road, but saving the fire station and a number of other structures. So, I'd take the "completely" part of "completely destroyed" with a grain of salt. Admitedly things are grim there at the moment, but these guys are pretty good at triaging the saveable from the unsaveable and saving the former.
The backfires appear to have been successful.......

What will it take for the good citizens of this country to wake up and see what the leftist extremists have done to our country.

Fire is about 1/2 mile from Lake Arrowhead and is burning all through Rimforest. This is so very tragic.....

About the Cuyamaca destruction: Me, my wife and in-laws know many of the people who worked and owned businesses there because Susan (Mrs. Mugwump) owns a cabin on North Peak, which I have to assume has by this time been destroyed.
Gotta tell you, this hurts. There are fine people in that area. Does anyone have a report on the extent of damage on North Peak itself?

Forecast for Big Bear is good the next two days if they can keep it at bay that long.
31 low tomorrow, 23 low Thursday, 18 low on Friday.
If they can generate some fake snow with their machines up there, it would really help.

Oh, yes, me too. This president has given some magnificent speeches. On the other hand, today I happened to catch a small part of his press conference and he seemed unusually subdued and tired. Maybe it was because the last time he held a press conference, some in the media bitched that he seemed too wired. A couple of the worst Dem shills even suggested he was being drugged. Jackasses!

Not much time left for that cabin.......

They were detaining some guy at a check point with fire turnout gear, I think he had a state OES card...or whatever they carry for liability purposes, but had a fake badge too. They were going to cite and release him, but I think someone is going to arrest him now...

Yeh, it appears directly in the path (MSNBC webcam)

They had to land the planes in the Arrowhead fight. The columns of smoke were collapsing on the fire making the visibility 0.
That cabin is history.

Unless you have a trust fund, or hit the lottery, you have worked your ass off to afford a house in Stephenson ranch. These are good hardworking people here.
Yeah...my sister is one of them.
