Hey KUSI, you might want to invest in a graphics department for situations like this. Sheeeesh. That may well be true. One of their competitors, 7/39, doesn't have a local graphics depatment, they get 'em out of Arizona.

In this case, it's an east coast bias.I read somewhere, that any distance south from New York is equal to twice that distance going west, in terms of news and college reputations, etc. So, a state four hours south of NY will get as much attention as a state 2 hours west. Seems to be true.

Been worried about you. Are you and the family okay? Did the house survive? Has the fireline passed your neighborhood?

KUSI has had the best coverage of all the SD news guys for the east county fires. Most the map may be cheap but as fast as the fires are moving its easier to keep up with it that way.
But that new crew is needs to get a clue.

Isn't that the truth. Living here in flyover country we know all about being ignored. Looks like it extends all the way west now.
I find the lack of coverage on Cable (non) News Channels appalling. They hype the RAT candidates and what is happening in Baghdad. Excuse me, but I think SoCal fires are more important and so do a lot of people!
It is like a conscience decision on the part of the cable outlets not cover! But let a car chase start up and there they all are -- wall to wall coverage!

Hello my friend.
I heard a blip on the radio last night that the fires are tied to terrorism. Has anyone else heard this?

Julian's land mark Framer's Market (the apple pie place) belongs to close family friends and both the business and their three homes will likely be destroyed. Hmm...when I was there in May someone was offering samples of different types of apple pies. This was near the general store, I think, along the main drag. I wonder if that's the place you're talking about. Great pie, by the way. It's disturbing to think a place I visited that had such seeming permanence could be devastated like that.

Pets are being left behind Sorry, I can't imagine doing that. If I have any warning at all, the cats are in the car with the kid. Anything else is replaceable.

This reporter, Ed, is still broadcasting from Inspriation Point, the anchor is trying, gently, to get him to realize that it's time go relocate, and take the ONE evacuation route left, 78 east to Borrego Springs, but he's kind of oblivious, he still thinks that he can go the other way if he needs to, that the evacuation route is just for residents, for their safety. He made the comment that the fire chief may be just erring on the side of caution. No $hit sherlock. They don't need your sorry a$$ driving through where they'er trying to stop the fire when you feel it's time for your to stop showing how macho you are. Unfreaking believable.
