hey, financing question here...how does this affect all the people that refied there homes to the hilt??A lot of people also don't update their insurance for many years and then end up badly underinsured when disaster strikes. Everybody, update your insurance every few years at the least.

Julian's land mark Framer's Market (the apple pie place) belongs to close family friends and both the business and their three homes will likely be destroyed. Oh, no. That was one of our favorite places to ride our motorcycles to when I lived in San Diego. I hope the fire doesn't make it all the way there.

Chuck now knows the difference between a fun story or movie and REALITY...could assist in turning him into a more real human..instead of plastic.

In this case, it's an east coast bias. Remember the near hysteria over the hurricane that was headed for the east coast a few weeks ago? Compare that saturation coverage to coverage of these fires. Except for CNN, which is in Atlanta, cable and broadcast news operations are located in the eastern power corridor. To them, anything west of the Potomac barely exists.

Well, we can just pray right now. I feel like crying, and I really don't cry much.
All these people. I was listening to a story today on KFI about a family who lost their home in the Malibu fires in 93. The toddler couldn't understand it, and carried the box of legos that was in the car everywhere he went, because he was terrified of losing the last thing he had left.
There are going to be alot of people needing grief therapy, some for years. Pets are being left behind, wedding photos, family heirlooms. It's just stunning.

"Is'nt Chuck the one who had the fire at his feet the other day?"

My brother got to go back to his house to check it out today, literally down the street from him are the 150+ houses in Scripps Ranch (off of Pomerado, just off of Fairbrook) that burned down. His house is fine, interior smells like a barbecue.
He was in front of his house today, and someone tapped him on the shoulder and asked if it would be alright to interview him, he turned around and it was Dan Rather! He thanked Dan for covering the story, and politely refused. I don't blame him, all his neighbors lost everything and he was in a tiny patch surrounded on 3 sides that was not hit, what do you say without looking like that lucky SOB who still has a house?

Julian is about 60 miles Northeast of San Diego. Slightly south east of Escondido. Parallels Ramona, slightly to the east.
