Unlike all you "compassionate" posters, I actually am interested in Michael's side of the story. I do not think he is a monster. I find it incredible that this man has been living this nightmare for 14 years, and you all come in the past month and think you can pass judgement on him. I'm disappointed, but not surprised.

that this man has been living this nightmare for 14 years

What evidence of there is that? He's had a lover on the side for most of that time --- if not all or more. He's got a new family started, he had plenty of spending money from some lawsuit won for Terri's care. He's always had a choice to divorce Terri and just move on with his life. He just hangs around trying to make sure she dies.

I find it incredible that Terri has been living this nightmare of 14 years and the courts think it is justification for killing her.

Hi, Hildy, remember me? I'm one of the Freepers who on earlier threads asked questions of you that you never responded to. Here's food for thought, Hildy.

Michael says he doing all this out of love for his wife. Out of his commitment to his marriage vows with Terri. If that's true, then how does he think his marriage vows to Terri included dating other women within a year of her collapse, bringing these other women to visit Terri in the care facility where she lived, moving in with another woman 5 years after her collapse, and fathering two children by this same woman? If Michael knew that Terri didn't want to have any tubes, why on earth did he allow one to be inserted in the first place?

Now that's a man with high regard for his marital vows! Oh, there's more, Hildy. If he respected Terri as much as he says he does, why on earth did he not allow for her to receive viaticum when she was already in the starving, dehydration death process. It's Terri's right to receive a final communion as a Catholic. He denied her that Sacrament. In case you're not versed with Catholic ways, the Eucharist is not considered to be food by the Church.

Why don't you see the obvious? I don't have to pass judgement on this man. His actions contradict his words.

177 - Surely you jest?

Have you not seen/read the actual document stating her injuries were consistant with strangulation?

Have you not read that her brain was deprived of oxygen for five minutes?

How long do you think it takes to strangle someone to death?

Does not strangluation deprive oxygen to a person?

IF, let me repeat, IF the husband did indeed try to strangle Terri (Remember they had a fight that evening.), and doctors examining her that night stated she could be rehabilitated to some extent (and therefore may be able to testify to that), and IF that were the case, and you found a lawyer who claims he can "hear" comatose patients when he screams into their face, "DO YOU WANT TO DIE? DO YOU WANT TO DIE?" then claim they say "yes" - and that same lawyer was hired several years after Terri entered the hospital, - and it was only then that the husband "suddenly remembers" Terri said she didn't want to live that way - would you the question his motives?

If you read up on the case and I mean everything, you'll stay disappointed in us instead of being 'informed'

Ask yourself this question: Why didn't Michael Schiavo simply divorce Terri so that he could make an honest woman of the one he's living with and with whom he has a child and one on the way? Why? It's all about money, you fool.
