FOX: PLEASE get a clue!
FOX News | 10/24/03

Posted on 10/24/2003 8:17:21 AM PDT by pabianice

Yesterday I was jolted to hear a FOX bimbette summarize Bush's visit to Pearl Harbor, where he "visited the USS Arizona memorial and also the USS Missouri, which was damaged in the attack on Pearl Harbor."

1. Someone please tell FOX that Missouri (BB-63 wasn't commissioned until 1944. The attack occurred on 7 December 1941.

2. Someone at FOX: please hire a bright high school student to give you some background on the military.

Thank you.

The blonde bimbo is there for ratings. Her mistake went unoticed to millions as they looked at her glossy lips.

Watch it, I was told by a poster a couple of months ago I would be "ostracized" by FReepers if I spoke ill of beloved Fox. I found that a rather funny comment, seeing as how they are obviously heading downhill in terms of news and reporting (oops, I said something again).

You're right. The bimbettes are there for their legs(and therefore the ratings), not their brains. By the way, I'm not complaining...

As long as hyperactive tabloid-twit moron Shepard Smith is on the payroll, Fox News obviously has no clue.

The whole network's tabloid orientation is really beginning to bug me.

And what about Chandra, anyway? Wasn't that their reason to exist a little while ago?

Yes, indeed - this is a very odd thing to get one's underwear in a bunch over - especially in light of the more trivial issues weare facing (like illegal immigration, for instance)

Give Fox a break. If it was CNN Pearl harbor would have been in Kingdom of Hawaii.

Well, normally, I would agree. However, Pearl Harbor is one of our most important military events, and probably the most well researched. While the political matchheads to the ambush are bandied back and forth to this day, the timeline of events and elements involved are tracked down to the gnat's a$$.

If a major news outlet can't get this right, it's pretty shameful. Bonus the idea that Fox should know better.

No wonder the other nets' think they can re-write history!

The USS Missouri is where America showed the world how gracious she could be in victory.

In Eastern Europe and eastern Germany, the Russians showed how gracious they could be as well.

The USS Missouri is now a museum located at the Pearl Harbor memorial site.

Yeah, as others have hinted here already, this is almost the "rule" instead of the "exception" at Fox. I'll take the idiotic, uninformed commentary/reporting you'll hear on Fox (more than CNN and MSNBC) over the latter two's liberal bias anyday.

Besides, love him or hate him, O'Reiley's no fool. Also, Hannity & Colmes are both pretty smart.

It's a reasonable "lesser of two evils", if only to simply give CNN and MSNBC fits over their plummeting ratings.

Whoever you were talking to was mistaken. People critique FOX on here all the time. I personally rarely watch FOX anymore, though I do turn to it over CNN or the other liberal establishment stations when I want to see current news video. It is just endless babble and shouting people and "alerts" that are idiotic.

It is nice, though, that FOX is popular, because it is leveraging apart a prime liberal power base that feeds major $$$ into liberal fronts.

So in my opinion, scarf on FOX all you want, it's no big deal. To each their own. Television is a vaste wasteland, some of the waste is just a little more palatable than the rest. If you find this area of the wasteland unappealing, watching and complaining about it seems kind of pointless.

She was talking about the USS Arizona Memorial. She was right, it was damaged, and many people lost their lives.
