TALLAHASSEE, FL -- According to a news release sent by the Terry Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Florida Speaker Johnnie Byrd will introduce "Terri's Bill" during the special session Monday.
The bill would put an immediate moratorium on all dehydration and starvation deaths in Florida. Meanwhile, supporters of Terri Schiavo showed up Sunday outside a Pinellas Park hospice.
Doctors say Schiavo has been in a vegetative state since complications from a heart attack in 1990. Her husband was granted a court order that her feeding tube be removed, saying his wife wouldn't have wanted to be kept alive.

MSNBC has had several live reports from their reporter at the vigil, Mark Potter. You should have heard the crowd singing and celebrating in the background, I got goosebumps! I think they may have more later, they have cut back there a few times over the last hour.

Thank you for the post, Rebelgrrl. That's very interesting about PETA. And congrats on your pregnancy. Such a wonderful feeling (well, mostly LOL). Enjoy this very special time. There is no other feeling like it. I have two wonderful children, and while they have challenged me in many ways, their innocence and joy of life are like a drink of cool water on some days. The mind of a child is truly amazing, and they will teach you many things.
Thank you for supporting Terri, and I know you will speak for me come election time in Florida. God bless you, and good luck with your baby :-)

Remember at the end of "the Untouchables" when the corrupt judge gets told his name is on the list of those receiving payoffs, and he reverses the fix? This reminds me so much of that.
Thank you God, and Thank you all the Freepers on the front lines!!!!
We have witnessed the Holy Spirit moving through phone lines, fiber optic cables, switches and routers - at lighning speed. He humbles the mighty and lifts up the meek. Praise be to God!

Makes me wonder what the outcome would have been if the internet had been in existence at the time of Roe v Wade.
In that a supermajority is required to dump Roe, the Internet might not could have stopped that. Of course, at any time both houses of Congress by a majority vote could under Article III, Section II, remove abortion from any consideration by the judicial branch. This is called "court-stripping," but it hasn't been used since Theodore Roosevelt was President. That's the dirty secret that leaders in both parties don't want us to know.

Apologize for not trusting a politician? Better not to trust them than to fall in line like zombies.
It was freepers prayers to our merciful Lord to protect and bless Terri and her family; having the courage to shout out that Terri was being murdered, regardless of the ridicule or backlash we faced.
It was people like pc93 and floriduh voter and all the others in Florida - those who personally demonstrated and stayed guard at the hospice, knowing Terri was only a few feet away.
All of that together, was a stick of dynamite under Jeb and Florida's Legislature.

Corrupt judges? Now we don't have that in the USA, you think? Actually I remember "The Untouchables" but mostly the acting of Robert Stack and the voice of Walter Winchell. I also know that it was a Desilu show, maybe that studio's only non-comedy. Those were truly the Golden Days of television.

Similarly, the Senate could by majority vote abolish the filibuster rule, but Frist won't try to do that for fear that EMK and Tom Harkin would come after him! Yet, some say Frist wants to run for President in 2008.
