Frank Sinatra show at NYC Radio City Music Hall

I attended a new show put on by Radio City Music Hall, where they have taken film footage previously unseen outside of the Sinatra family, and worked the soundtrack to a live orchestra.

All in all, it is quite a believable event, with projection screens moving in and out of view, and a constant flow of imagery of Frank and family and friends.

There is one section where they mention Frank's involvement with the Giancana family in Chicago, and how he, as a friend of JFK, and with a phone call from JFK's father enlisting Frank's help, the election for the presidency was won, with the Giancana's fixing the vote in the state of Illinois.

Honestly, there was barely a peep out of the audience about this. Shortly after, it was explained that later in life, Frank became friends with Richard Nixon. This elicited quite a bit of laughter. Now, I live in NY, and understand I am surrounded, but how in tarnation can anyone listen to those two points about history within the span of five minutes, and laugh at that part.

Hello -JFK - Camelot - whatever you want to call it was a MOB orchestrated event!!!!

Strange days indeed.

Papa Joe just used old blue eyes, then Camelot dumped his A$$ when the heat got too hot.

Just like JFK did at the Bay of Pigs.

Yeah...the Dems really turned their back on Sammy when he was appointed to one of Nixon's economic positions. This was a guy who helped lead the civil rights cause for those few democrats who cared and yet he had to postpone his wedding for JFK and then wasn't invited to the inaugural party. Nixon does this and invites him and his wife to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom and all of the sudden he's abandoned by some of his closest friends. I don't think Frank or Sammy forgave the Dems for the way they used them both. As nion said, "Sammy couldn't be bought" and that didn't sit well with some.

Being of an age and a northeasterner, I do remember that old Joe was tight with Giancana amd his associates, part of the party machine, don'tcha'no? Well, old joe, after young Joe died, decided to pick up # 2 son and "Sell him like soap suds", with Sam's help. Got him a Senate seat and then off to the Presidency!

The Irony is that Bobby and Jack decided to turn on the hand that put them in office. Do I think they were truly cleaning up politics, hell no! Damage control, but so stupid! Lots of stupid going around, Marilyn Monroe's death, another stupid thing. Do I think she killed herself? Hell no. More damage control.

Frank and the rat pack were buddies of the king of camelot.
Jackie was the Princess! They ruled! They passed, like everything else.

Richard Nixon was President. If he asked Frank Sinatra to come to the WH do you suppose Frank would have said no? Was there a bigger capitalist than Frank Sinatra? NO! These people have no knowledge of what went before. Sad, but oh, well, we keep reinventing the wheel.
