You spittle out, Your Posts 772 and 780 are your tacit acknowledgement that I have won this particular debate. And that's all Terri Schiavo's life is to you, a debate point to be won. That's why you've dissemble and mischaracterized her, calling her dead for 13 years, claiming you have not seen her image then claiming you've watch the videos of her and 'perused' her website several times ... you're a liar and a disrupter taking great joy out of the distress felt by others. You are an agitator who appears to need to lie and dissemble, insult and condescend to others. In summary, you are a ghoul playing at word games to enjoy the plight of Terri Schiavo.

"But the Schindlers' attorneys aren't arguing in terms of Terri's constitutional rights" Yes they are. You might want to try learning the facts before pontificating on them.

You don't want a governor. You want a man on horseback. More B.S.
The Executive is a co-equal branch, which should be able to read the federal and state constitution's guarantees of the right to life quite clearly and easily; and act on those guarantees that they are sworn to uphold. This ain't rocket science.

What may give your life meaning, may not be the same for all others. Do you hold that the government has a duty to provide food and water to every citizen?

Her parents have repeatedly begged to be able to care for her at their own expense.

"Are the Schindler's lawyers well-respected in Florida? "
Now that question I can't answer. I know my hubby was born and raised in Dunedin, FL though and had never heard of any of the people involved in the case. He moved from Dunedin in 1997 when we got married and still has family there. If I didn't have two little ones in diapers, I'd be staying at his brother's house right now and attending the vigil. My 1yr old is still nursing though so I can't be there even though I would like to be. I even comtemplated coming anyway (12 hour drive) and bringing them along, but I'm afraid crying children would disrupt those in prayer.

It requires surgery to administer the portal for the food and water in the case of a non-responsive patient. The very definition of "medical treatment." What a BS argument.
Her parents begged the court to allow them to spoon-feed her.
The court refused.
The goal is to kill Terri, and they will not let anything get in the way.
This is an abomination, and you are defending it.

Do you hold that the government has a duty to provide food and water to every citizen? Hell no. But anyone who sedates a family member and deprives them of basic sustenance should have a nice long stay in the penitentery.
To: honeygrl
I too am tied down with two young children, otherwise I would have gone to Florida.
I cannot stop dreaming about Terri... having nightmares. I am not complaining, however, my discomfort is nothing compared to her agony. I cannot fathom the pain she is in. How could he remove the pain medications?

I call 'em as I see 'em.
Meanwhile, since you seem blind to the basic realities of this situation, as evidenced by your last statement, I suggest you read THIS thread:

. I even comtemplated coming anyway (12 hour drive) and bringing them along, but I'm afraid crying children would disrupt those in prayer. Actually , I would think the opposite!! I think the cries of a baby would be effective . "A child shall lead them"........
To: strela
Your assumption is a bit of a stretch I think.
I have to assume that had they been able to see a full thirteen years into the future and divined that strictly going the court route was going to prove so fruitless, they might have thought to explore a few other avenues.

Hell no. But anyone who sedates a family member and deprives them of basic sustenance should have a nice long stay in the penitentery. This is a BASIC RIGHT!!.....deprived to her by her husband, judge GREEDY.....the HOSPICE HOME, and perhaps now the GOVERNOR???????? GOVERNOR BUSH.....we are CALLING YOU TO DO SOMETHING TODAY!!!!!!!!
To: agrace
Both avenues should have been followed. But, that doesn't diminish the Schindler's efforts. No one can say that they haven't been fighting for their daughter.

Still, you are recommending death for someone else, not yourself.
And every advocate of abortion too is already born and therefore has a conflict of interest when he endorses abortion of the unborn.

Still, you are recommending death for someone else, not yourself. That's the problem with having those nasty things called "opinions." Its a pity that some FreeRepublic posters take them further and presume to play God and want to attempt to force-feed the rest of us whether we want it or not.
And every advocate of abortion too is already born and therefore has a conflict of interest when he endorses abortion of the unborn.
Strawman and completely irrelevant to Schiavo's case.

>>Also, I have problems with the inherent premise that the government owes a supply of food and water to every person in the United States, and further believe that mindset to be a slippery slope and subject to gross abuse. But I think that's a question of semantics.<<
There was a substantial amount of money set aside to provide this particular US citizen's basic needs (f & w). Anyway, what on earth do you think food stamps are for? Are you saying her parents would not happily pay for any food she may eat? Think again.
>>It requires surgery to administer the portal for the food and water in the case of a non-responsive patient. The very definition of "medical treatment."<<
The court has forbidden everyone concerned with this woman to even feed her a spoonful of Jello. What the heck are they worried about? She might choke and die < /sarcasm>?
No surgery involved with that simple act of human kindness.
