PLEASE ,PLEASE go to the website http://www.terrisfight.org and read the letters that have just been sent to Jeb Bush in regards to the Terri Schiavo case. JEB BUSH can LEGALLY STOP THIS. CALL his office, CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES, CALL and email the media.THE CLOCK is ticking to save her life.

Schiavo's family have had 13 years to appeal to them to do so. Since they have not, I have to assume that they never wanted to in the first place. And its a little late now.

However, not having the answer to that question truly does call into question what her wishes are.

Or, perhaps the answer to that is even more simple... the lawsuits involve the State of Florida, Schiavo, and Terri's parents... Terri Schiavo is the interested party in all of these suits, but she isn't actually bringing the suits to court. I wonder if she should have been used as a character witness?

Are the Schindler's lawyers well-respected in Florida?

They are. But the Schindlers' attorneys aren't arguing in terms of Terri's constitutional rights, but in terms of how there's some legal mumbo-jumbo that will let them revoke Michael Schiavo's guardianship--which is not the case. That's why I'm getting suspicious of the motives of the attorneys.

Pretty oblique commentary there. But hardly surprising since you know darn well that I'm not arguing for expansive government, I'm arging for someone to have the guts to protect one poor, defenseless woman from a bunch of murderous ghouls.

You're arguing that Jeb Bush must ignore his legal counsel, put his subordinates at risk of criminal prosecution, and ignore the laws of the state of Florida, instead of the Schindlers' attorney arguing from equity.

You don't want a governor. You want a man on horseback.

Now that's a new one! I had one troll when the Kobe threads started getting heated that would follow me around to completely unrelated threads just to troll me where ever I went.

Only someone with a Living Will, with a DNR clause, should have treatment withheld.

I can't agree on that one. I believe that the default should be no treatment/heroic measures UNLESS a Living Will or other document is filed indicating otherwise. There are hardheads such as myself out there who don't want a physician to lay a hand on us unless we say its OK for them to do so.

Also, I have problems with the inherent premise that the government owes a supply of food and water to every person in the United States, and further believe that mindset to be a slippery slope and subject to gross abuse. But I think that's a question of semantics.

Of course, I disagree strongly with the premise that food and water is "medical treatment".

It requires surgery to administer the portal for the food and water in the case of a non-responsive patient. The very definition of "medical treatment."

Legally, Michael is Terri.

He speaks for her. The court considers his words to be hers.
