I have no problem admitting that I have a gutter sense of humor, but the problem with the show was that it just isn't funny.

A show that is shallow and limited to the subject of sexual humor, it doesnt stand a chance.
I saw the previews of it and it seemed like a waste of money to even advertise it.

I just DONT get what the fuss is about. I have watched many episodes of the English version and its no big deal, not very racy by even American standards, so I find it VERY hard to beieve that the US version is all that. (no I have not seen the US version) I think the hype is wayyyyyy over the top on this.

Even the title, "Coupling" is a turn-off.
Sounds like the show belongs on the Animal Network.

who have seen the original version of Coupling on digital cable channel BBC America - is that it is just a pale carbon copy of the British show.Like that hasn't happened before when American TV tries to pick up British shows. They tried that with "Fawlty Towers." It was lame to say the least.

The fact that Coupling is being sidelined for this key period suggests NBC does not have a lot of faith in the show developing into a long term replacement for Friends, as had been hoped. Coupling is Friends. It just includes a lot of 12-year-old locker room humor. My wife loves it.

the first season of the Brit show was brilliant. Or at least the first season that they showed on PBS here. the following season was relatively mediocre.

I prefer the original version that runs on the BBC. Also there is a show called "Man Child" that is pretty good.

As a big fan of the British version, I have to admit...the actors are what is killing the American version.
Gawd, what a bunch of stiffs.

I watched part of one show. It seemed like Seinfeld with grade B actors.

Going up against CSI was a mistake. That show is an 800 pond gorilla.
To: weegee
We get it on BBC cable. Don't watch it there either.
To: weegee
The clips I saw didn't strike me as funny. Also it was on against my favorite show, CSI.

One of the reasons that some Brit TV shows work is because they
ARE British! Among the best, IMHO, would be Faulty Towers and, of course, Monty Python's Flying Circus! There's just no way to "translate" them into US shows that could possibly work!

Ah, what a terrible shame. Based on a British show, this one obviously didn't make the grade? The Brits have a much different sense of humor, and their version is much better, although too racy for me.
