I've been saying for years that what baseball and America really need is for people to discover the minor leagues. You can see good baseball played by people who love the game and you don't have to pay much at all. If people knew that MLB wasn't the only game in town, strikes and lockouts wouldn't have much of an effect, salaries would become more sensible, and eventually we'd be able to call baseball "America's Pasttime" again.

What's that train whistle noise?Who's the big guy driving it? He has a number 3 on his back and is telling the BoSox to climb aboard. Where could he be taking them?
4-2, top of the 9th. A(nother) good ball game.

The broadcasters tend to talk about slugging average more than they did, but still not enough. You're right it's key...

Ok.....I think Mo can hold a 2-run 9th inning lead. Especially with the lower-half of the order coming up. But Trot Nixon has been doing some slugging in this postseason.

WHY did they pull Wells? In 7 he gave up only 4H and had 5ks! Man, you'd think Bobby Cox was coaching from Atlanta!

Well, it wasn't a home run, but it still extends the inning and puts the tying run at the plate. If Mo can get out of the inning the 9th should be easier. I still think Joe should have gone with Contreras and brought Mo at the first sign of trouble. Had Jose given up that triple it would have been very demoralizing to the Sox if Mo got out of it with only one run. You have to think about the psychology of tomorrow's game. Now if Mo comes in leading by 1 the Sox are thinking "We still got a chance."
