"MARY HELP!"
Posted on 09/22/2003 7:14:32 AM PDT by Illinois Rep
General Clark, so confused on what his stance was and is on military action in Iraq stopped his response to reporters on-board and yelled, "MARY HELP!"
Mary, his campaign aide had to come to his side to explain his position. When she stated it the good General, Generic Clark firmly stated, "That's it! Exactly"
Is this Admiral Stockdale we are dealing with?
I wonder if Generic Clark would say his favorite song is the Beatles, "Let It Be".....when I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, Let it be.

Is this Admiral Stockdale we are dealing with? Bite your tongue! VADM Stockdale is a highly decorated honest to God hero who, while he appeared less than prepared for the debates of '92, was (and is) regarded as one of the finest foriegn policy minds in recent history. If you need any further details about the good ADM's military record please consult the United States Naval Academy Library, USNA Alumni Association, or the National Archives, and if you need more details about his foreign policy expertise most of it can be found through Stanford University and the Naval Institute Press. GEN Clark, despite his extra star, isn't qualified to hold VADM Stockdale's flight bag. He didn't get that pretty blue ribbon he wears for shuffling paper in Belgium.

In hindsight I realize the error of my post.
I meant no ill to Admiral Stockdale. He was not an effective politician. He was a token for Ross Perot who wasn't going anywhere in the election.
This is the basis for my statement. Stockdale was asked by Perot to run as V.P. and he did. Clark has been asked by someone to run and he has. Clark is a sock puppet of someone and it becoming more evident that hand may be one or both of the Clintons.
I have a different theory on Clark and the Clintons. The Clintons realize how difficult it is to beat an incumbent President (I believe only 4 in 17 during the 1900's have pulled it off). If Dean gets the nomination as it appears prior to Clark, then regardless of whether Dean wins or loses, Dean has much more control over the party. Dean would be able to kick Terry M. out of the DNC and the Clintons hands in the party would diminish a great deal.
I don't feel the Clintons think Clark will win. I don't see Hillary jumping in late because it is a HUGE gamble for her. Hillary has ONE shot at President. If she loses in the general election her career is over. Regardless of how vulnerable Bush is, Hillary won't risk running against him. ANYTHING can happen between announcing and election day that could help re-elect Bush. Her goal is 08 and Clark is in to keep the party out of Deans hands between now and then.

Hilary better hope Guiliani doesn't decide to run in '08 or her political career will be over then as well.

What is General Clark's support within the military? Is there any data?

I don't have any direct knowledge of that.
I would assume he'd do better than any other rat but I really really doubt he'd actually win the majority of military votes. Our soldiers aren't stupid.
