In hindsight I realize the error of my post.

I meant no ill to Admiral Stockdale. He was not an effective politician. He was a token for Ross Perot who wasn't going anywhere in the election.

This is the basis for my statement. Stockdale was asked by Perot to run as V.P. and he did. Clark has been asked by someone to run and he has. Clark is a sock puppet of someone and it becoming more evident that hand may be one or both of the Clintons.

I have a different theory on Clark and the Clintons. The Clintons realize how difficult it is to beat an incumbent President (I believe only 4 in 17 during the 1900's have pulled it off). If Dean gets the nomination as it appears prior to Clark, then regardless of whether Dean wins or loses, Dean has much more control over the party. Dean would be able to kick Terry M. out of the DNC and the Clintons hands in the party would diminish a great deal.

I don't feel the Clintons think Clark will win. I don't see Hillary jumping in late because it is a HUGE gamble for her. Hillary has ONE shot at President. If she loses in the general election her career is over. Regardless of how vulnerable Bush is, Hillary won't risk running against him. ANYTHING can happen between announcing and election day that could help re-elect Bush. Her goal is 08 and Clark is in to keep the party out of Deans hands between now and then.

Hilary better hope Guiliani doesn't decide to run in '08 or her political career will be over then as well.
