A teacher at a Northern California high school threatened to kick a 16-year-old out of a virtual class if he failed to get a “Trump 2020” campaign flag out of view.
In detail: Tiffany, the mother of the 16-year-old student who goes to Colusa High School said that he left the class, said the teacher gave her son 15-seconds to take down the pro-Trump flag or move to another place where it cannot be seen in the background. A video taken from another student shows the teacher counted to 15, ABC10 reported.
Tiffany’s son left the virtual class before the teacher got the opportunity to remove him. She said she doesn’t blame the teacher but the school for not outlining a set of rules for online classes.

Does the school have a policy against any kind of messaging behind students during Zoom calls?
If so, then this is appropriate, to prevent distraction. But if not, it would have been a fabulous teachable moment about free speech.
I fear the epic levels of fraud, but it is non stop stories like this that make me hope for 50 state bone crushing defeat for dems/. I want them to suffer
Ah, it appears the school does allow these kinds of expressions:
“The Board respects students’ rights to express ideas and opinions, take stands on issues, and support causes, even when such speech is controversial or unpopular.”
The teacher was wrong. And should have taken the opportunity to have a brief lesson about free speech.
If I still had school aged children I would have some fun with this and maybe get paid also.

Time to file a lawsuit for fraud (billing but not teaching), discrimination, and deprivation of rights.
Are Biden or BLM signs allowed to be seen?
As a general principle, there shouldn’t be any signs or political discussion in school. If those things are also applied to online school, I would be fine.
If there are Biden signs or BLM signs, then anything is fair game and freedom of speech.
And they have jurisdiction in his home? Piss on this school.

“These kind of expressions meaning offensive conservative expressions.” Went through this with one of my daughters when a fellow student WORE a rainbow flag to school, which was permitted. When my wife called and told them she was sending our daughter to school wearing and NRA flag, she was told that too many students would find that offensive and it wouldn’t be permitted. If burning the Flag protects an anti-American POS under the First Amendment, then the student is also protected by the First Amendment.

The kid is basically saying "I support the President of the United States who was elected in the national election of 2016."

Seems just *slightly* arbitrary to kick the kid for it.
Replace it with a rainbow flag.
Then take it to court when they stop complaining.
