The Clinton’s had a good run. But, every Governor, every Senator, wants to be president. (Heck, even every mayor form two-bit midwestern towns want to be president). The Clinton’s have sucked the oxygen, or have tried to, from the Democrat Party for close to 30 years. Thirty years! Ambitious politicians can’t afford to wait any longer. Thirty political years spans JFK to Bill Clinton. Too, too much.
Daddy Bush sucked. Clinton won because of Bush, not Perot.

Michelle won't run because she is smarter than Barry. She understands that her husband in utterly passe these days. The policies her base wants her to run on have been proven disasters. She and Barry know that.

But sorry babe, you need to show something beyond shedding the slavery of our ruts to be a serious candidate. Skunk Cabbage had two terms (the second aborted, due to her SOS job) as a US Senator. You, Michelle, have NOTHING to show, at least at this point.
Bottom line, Ignore Michelle - the Dems aren’t stupid enough to run her. But yes, beware of skunk cabbage...she’s not going away easily.
I’m still holding my theory that no Democrat actually wants the nomination.
Running FOR the nomination is fun & profitable.
They get a year or two of national notoriety, a good salary, subsequent speaking gigs & book deals, lots of profitable connections, adoring fans, influence national debate, and then - after a dramatic exit - move on to the next job & project.
Running AS the nominee will be ... horrible.
Burn thru the better part of a billion dollars, race all over the country for months, try to convince the right part of some 130,000,000 voters (Electoral College ya know), get expertly & publicly dismantled by Trump, run on a platform of “everything is pretty darned good, so let’s overturn all of it on a risky utopian fantasy”, and assuredly losing all but the most Leftist of states (maybe even Minnesota).
Then having to live with that. I don’t recall Mondale being subsequently memorable for anything beyond winning Minnesota.
Those currently & recently contending are mostly nobodies, having no hope beyond a profitable run as a foil for the 4-5 real contenders ... who in turn seem more interested in going thru the motions than actually winning.
Hillary won’t jump in. She can barely walk.
Michelle won’t jump in. She’s not a politician, and has too much baggage.
Those who really could have a shot at winning ... aren’t showing. They know a losing situation, instead biding their time for 2024, when Pence presumably won’t be a meaningful contender and, however good things may be, enough will be tired of Trump to consider a strong Democrat for a sequel.
All the Left can do is keep hounding Trump.

If Trump can attract just 5% of voters away from choosing D, he’ll have the popular vote (at which point no worries of him winning the EC).
Or if the Left drives away 5%. They’re working pretty hard at doing so, what with promises of confiscating guns, raising taxes, and opening borders.

Perot was working for the Clintons. Sure Bush made people mad but he was liberal enough for the left with the exception of a war or two.

Believe what you want. His reappearance in 96 proved to me he worked for Clinton. He never had any intention of winning the presidency.
